January 1066. Sir Longarm were planning to build an huge, new castle to the border of barbarian lands, to protect his citizen and villages from brutal barbarian attacks. But suddenly just few days before the castle were about to be started working on, few of the most necessary people for building the castle were kidnapped, leaving blood splatter and dead bodies behind..
Scout reports that the engineers for the castle where held in torture chambers of barbarian lord Brotos "the Torturer", close to his mansion and inside his barbarian village.
Sir Longarm sent his best military troops, professionally trained knights, and his most accurate archers to rescue the prisoners and kill Lord Brotos himself!
This will be no easy task becouse the barbarians are prepared for revenge attack for their bloody rampage to kidnapp the engineers, barbarians are strong, merciless and fearless. It will be no easy task! Good luck commander the faith of the engineers and the villagers of Longarm are now at your hands!

Playability: 4.5
I have to say this map is unique! Attacking castle with no walls with a lot of troops only witha small army was an interesting and a trivky idea... I played it on normal (I think it should be played on very hard) and found it quite easy... in fact I guess it was supposted to kill anyone who stands on the way of the knights, but I was just ignoring the fellows :D I get the lord with my whole army of knights :)
Easy for me (I'm intermediate, not pro or something.) but for the new players it's ok... it will be hard enough if you decide to kill the marching forces, without ignoring them, like me :D
Balance: 4.5
In first I though I couldn't make it, they were so much... But in fact you made the two sides very precisely :) it's not a five, cuz all my archers died and didn't killed anyone, and the enemy was to stupid (his troops weren't aimed in the knights, but in the ground, so i could just ignore their paths and leave without damages :D the army is quite big, but most of it rest unused...
Creativity: 5
Well, bravo, dude! You learnt to cook, bake and frie maps much better :D The idea ,I saw, was identical... attacking swarmed castle, with no walls :) Loved it! A fair 5!
Map Design: 4.5
OK, here you improved most! The design is pretty good and touched almost everywhere, I just blinked, amazed, while the hunters (with no jobs) were shooting my knights :D I haven't sen similar idea before in SH1 map... next time try, with fighting jesters, who guard the lord xD As I said the design is very good at all, but still it needs to be touched a little more... Adding shrubs and rocks on the ground won't be a bad idea.
Story/Instructions: 4
Good story, original, but found it little and non-conventional for the map... Sorry, but take a look at some UnikUnok's map and see what means a story for a straight five :D anyway good work here too, I guess the taunting pig in the end was me xD "No, prisoners, everyone dies!" lol
Additional Comments:
I hope you understood most of my review, perhaps you've found tons of my grammatical and stylistic mistakes, I don't neither speak or learn english :P Thanks for the joy, that you gave me 8) |
