I played on this map against the Emir, giving him 40 000 Gold. From this game, this is what I think on your map :
Playability: 3.5
The problem here if that the keep are very close to the border line. So, in aMultiplayer game, it's not a problem, but, against the IAs, this could be a problem against some big IAs like Nizar, or the Wolf. The Emir can make all his castle, but, because of the hills, he couldn't close his castle with tcreating gatehouses. So, it couldn't send his men to the towers. The defense was so very easy. Without the manongel or the Arabian archers on the towers, killing him was very easy. Otherwise, he could quite easily attack me, making a good rush. Yet, I think putting the keep more remoted to the end of the map must be a good idea, making a perfect playability.
Balance: 4
Well, I don't think the map is "easy". Yet, it's very hard to evaluate the difficulty in a skirmish, because the difficult depends on very uncertains points : position of the IAs, the IAs himself, and the starting goods. So, I think the difficulty in a skirmish consists by the number of resources, or a studying of the repartition of resources. In this case, your map isn't very unbalanced. The twice players have the same resources, I think, but the resources are quite poor. However, it's not a skirmishe against 7 IAs, just a 1 vs 1. Yet, I sawx skirmishes with 2 Players with more goods. Anyway, we can make a good city, even if I don't really know if the level of difficulty of this map is "Normal", or "Easy"... I let you choose, this don't have any importance. Moreover, you can use all the kind of resources availables : pitch, iron, stone, wood, etc...
Creativity: 3.5
A 1 vs 1 map, with some goods... Basically, there's nothing of very original. So, what I find original (I'm genereous here) is maybe the shared oasis in the middle. If we don't protect him, the Emir can easily kill our farmers. Anymway, here, I'm very genereous ; I don't want to kill your note. For me, "Creativity" isn't a very important part...
Map Design: 3.5
What I like here was the moutains above, which are very wild, giving to me a good impresison of a natural place. Indeed, the contours aren't rectilinears, so they are quite beautiful. However, the major part of the map is constituted by a oasis which is not very attractive...
Story/Instructions: 3
Nothing at all. Maybe some instructions must be useful, but, well, I think it's quite secondary in a skirmishe. Making a scenario is indeed quite hard, because we can choose any IA we want. So, I don't reproach for making any scenario, but I can't make the highest score here.
Additional Comments:
Well, it was a good skirmish, not very original, with some defaults, but a good work. |
