um, when we said you're doing well and improve, we didn't meant to improve the maps' amount, but their quality... now Tharaam was a great work of yours. this isn't bad, but I know you can do better, much better. just spare more time to your maps, like you once did and you'll make awesome scenarios ;) And remember, we aren't interested in the amount of your maps, but of their quality.[Edited on 05/29/08 @ 03:03 PM]

I played on it against a Caliph, giving him 40 000 Gold.
Playability: 3.5
Because it's a desert, there isn't any place for farms, so we have to use the stone and the iron in order to create a city. The two keeps are very close, so doin a mangonel war is possible, with a strong battle for the resources, especially the wood which is in the middle of the map. The Caliph wasn't very difficult here ; his Arabian archers can kill my workers, but, with two or three mangonels, he was quickly calmed down. We have a lot of stone and iron available, close to the keep, so using them to create a strong town isn'"t very difficult. Yet, the problem comesfrom the IAs. The map isn't adapted for them, so, the Calip can only make a part of his city. And I can't imagine a Nizar or a Wolf playing on his map. Like in "Tharaam", this is the principal problem.
Balance: 3
What I've to say in this category join what I've said before, that is to say the difficulty of the map is very reduced by the lack of place for the IAs. I think it's better to play on this skirmishe in MultiPlayer than in Solo, because the map isn't adapted for the IAs. Anyway, there's a lot of resources in order to compensate for the absence or agricultural places. It's a good idea, but not adapted for the IAs...
Creativity: 3.5
Not a lot of things wxhich are very original here. What I like is the lot of resources dispatched everywhere, giving to me a impression of chaos. It's impossible, or very difficult, to close the castle, so we have to put towers in some strategic points. I think this could be a good game against a Human Player, but against a IA, it's quite disappointing.
Map Design: 3.5
As I said before, I like the repartition of the resources, giving to me a impression of chaos. But, well, in fact, there's nothing of very beautiful in the map, just a lot of stone and iron dispatched everywhere. This dispersion gives a kind of beauty, and this is what I like.
Story/Instructions: 2
No story, and no instructions neither. Yet, in this case, I can't let pass trhe lack of instructions. Indeed, I think the map is a multiplayer skirmishe, but it's not said in the Topic, or in the briefing of the map. In the topic, there's just "Enjoy", but the map isn't really funny against a IA...
Additional Comments:
A map which maybe need more time to prepare, and which is recommended for Multiplayer. |
