Map Size: 400x400 (Large)
Tah-Dah! :)

This is one of the many maps I've made, but one of the few I've submitted to SH.

Before you play, please note that ths map is not geographically accurate, and I have left it to the player to deem where the signposts should go.

This map is made for the gameplay to be tweaked by the player (amount of resources, starting goods, space etc), and in it's current form, it is set to economic boom.

As this is my first freebuild I've submitted to SH, I woud enjoy some points to improve on.

Hmmm. Should probably get the name right in future.
(at least it isnt called Poland anymore.)

gardevoir999 I don't have stronghold but this map looks good. Normally, people like lots of detail but this looks plain and appealing still.
The Hitman Not geographically accurate? I still can't understand what does the map has to do with it's name :D

I just played on it. This is what I think.

Playability: 3.5
It's a freebuild scenario, so estimate the playability isn't very easy. I put my keep in the South, and I can easily develop myself. There's a lot of plains, so it's quite easy to quickly develop the castle. Yet, we have the choice between the poor plains in the South (but with iron and stone), or the high plains in the North. I chose the South. The only problem I saw comes from the market. In a freebuild scenario, it's a problem for me to do not have the possibility to trade the goods. Indeed, I've more than 10 000 Gold money, but it's impossible to trade something. It's for me a problem.

Balance: 4
Not a lot of things to say here... We begin with a lot of resources, so it's easy to develop the castle. However, the market doesn't have any utility.

Creativity: 4
What I like in yoru map is the separation North/South.

North --> High plain, many trees, and marecages for oil.

South --> Low plains, low trees, but iron and stone

So, we've to choose.

Map Design: 3.5
The design is quit eoriginal, with a lot of walls, but, in fact, it's just a large plain with a big river in the middle. Even if the walls are quite beautiful, making a design quite original, it's not exceptionnal. I find the map too... rectilinear.

Story/Instructions: 1.5

Isn't it Poland that's mostly reclaimed land?

Oh wait, thats The Netherlands.

evil_space_cows, Maybe you mean to call your map "polder". A polder is "a low-lying tract of land enclosed by embankments known as dikes" to quote Wikipaedia. Often found in Holland. Or maybe you mean to call the map "Holland".

Well, I'm from Australia, so I'm not very good at european geography.

I meant Holland, and got the names mixed up.

(P.S. I don't know how the Netherlands got ino this, but I'm only in year 8.)
Why don't you use the update button to change the name of the map to Holland? Than way players will be less confused.

(BTW, The Netherlands is just another name for Holland)

What are these walls doing there? Oh, and you won't just find a small forest in a field, and not every river in holland is that broad and and and...
