So here mine old SM map. One of the first successful one. But without any text, was :/

You become here a Arabian lord. Hard task as its not overflowed by resourses and as its not every building is availalbe to build. So your destiny is to become a bit better than Sultan.
Now its very hard task would be to fight 1v7 (if ramdomly choose AI lords or saladins, richards, wolfs) but its time to find some allies here or less enemy's.

Ableness of recruit troops:

Arabian troops, enginieers with (fire) ballistas... etc.

Disabled buildings:

NO barracks, wheat farms, apples, fletcher, politurner, armorers workshops... etc.

Update01: Added more trees from previous unreleased version of map.

AZ ViTrAzhAs Realistic oases, interesting river, hills placed in the right places... However a bit more trees would be great, since this is 8 player map, which are actually pretty rare :)
Dragol Yeah 8 player maps are quite anoying to make i usually play the ones that came with SH but if som1 makes one thats great ^^ good work
peter2008 "I hope you like this map." - For me this is out of question. What is not clear from the mini map, there are decisive restraints for buildings. You need to concentrate your economy on two or three goods, e.g. dairy farms only. Lucky if you have access to stone. Cause then you have to sell, sell, sell: to buy not only the goods you need (hops, pitch), but to hire mercenaries. In the Arabians land only these troops are available (and no shields)! Long time ago I tried fighting with Arabs for fun and it turned out that they are forced to rely on fire for the defence and +5 fear factor for attack against better armoured and armed European forces.
An example from this map.
- One match I played 1 vs 7 AIs, 8k gold for them, 2k for me. Placed myself bottom left with access to iron only. Started placing 20 (!) iron mines, after that selling und buying like mad, bowmen, pitch, slaves for moats, stones - had to make my stand with one ballista against four mangonels.
- When the castle walls hadn't been completed stupid Philipp's knights entered and stayed alive long enough to devastate it (xbows would have left me carelees about them). Due to such unfamiliar circumstances I had to restart several times.
No, I don't "like" this map, but I'm eager to win on it again.

peter2008 Also your efforts in mapmaking deserve some comments. The landscape is varied, on the western side would some elevations might have done good. The grenery is worked out perfectly and the idea of the swamp hole inside the eastern hills is nice.
Two questions remain:
- does it correspond to nature that some of the rivers' banks are green while others are not?
- What about trees?. The thin lines of palms along the middle stream I find convincing. But can olive trees grow on pure desert (bottom right - though I see the need for a another economic good in this corner and though olive trees are often placed this way in official Crusader maps, too)?
Don't know much about geography but will take a closer look at books about Palestine.

Aside: trees aren't important here because you can't process the wood to bows and pikes.

AZ ViTrAzhAs Well than this map is great for those who like fire and mercenaries :D wood, well personally for me, is they key resource even if it is the cheapest. When playing with 2 k, I usually spend it on wood to ensure a fast start of the economy and later woodcutters bring me more wood to continue with other important buildings.
revilo575 one of the best maps i hav played in a long time but one thing how long did you spend makin this map.must hav been ages because its 8 players

about 1 hour... + 3 h testing it (playing for fun :P) :D
strongholder nl I played this map. I positioned myself against 7 ai's all crusader ai's and a rat (The rat attacks very soon). So i started out with 2k and the ai's with 8k. I Positioned myself on the island. The first thing I did was almost enclosing my keep. I dug a moat at the three fords in the west and put up a wall to the south. Next i build a round tower with a ballista to the east and set all my troops there.

Now i was safe from ealry raids but how could i keep my economy strong. The answer was: swords, ale and +5 fear factor. This imedeatly improved my soldiers strength too.

After some time the rat was dying because of all the arrows that my archerrs shot at him so I senD in 10 arab swords to kill him. This opened up the stone for me and closed it for the ai's. My population was now rising and i had 6 brewery's 4 inss and 4 hops farms. I had 3 stone mines and 12 oxen. I don't remember the amount of iron mines and blacksmiths. I just started pumping out horse archers and i took out the remaing ai's with ease. playing time: 1.5 hours.

Very nice map.

The map was very fun to play. It is very challenging and I had to take a break from my normal tactics. Very nice that you only allowed arab forces. And the best thing: You can keep on playing this scenario over and over again. I mean there are 8.4*10^17 possibilities to have a very fun playing time. and that is without any possible teams!

Balance: 4.5
The balance was great. It is hard to start up because you have only litle raw materials at your position or are very open to attacks. Overall a very good map here.

Creativity: 4
Very creative. I haven't seen any skirmish maps here that only allow you to create arab troops. Very creative.

Map Design: 4.5
Great just great it looked natural and the ai's have enough area to build their castle. The stone and iron deposits also look great and the oasis is just perfect. And very important evrything is balanced out just right.

Story/Instructions: 1
I'm sorry but i can't give more than a 1. No story means a 1.

Additional Comments:
Great map keep up the good work and if this rating is a litle bit soft or harsh I'm sorry but this is my first review ever.
