This scenario was a lot of fun to play at first. I lost quickly the first time through. However when I figured out how to deal with the invasions it became repetitive. The main problem was with the AI.. In the last two –and quite large invasions – the AI sent the troops 4 to 6 at a time to be cut down piecemeal. Had they attacked in larger groups my goose would have been fried, sautéed and barbecued. I quit before the end having killed dozens of small groups over a period of 25 years.. The author needs to find a way to motivate the invasions up the hill. The map design was striking, the lay-out of the land and of the castle very esthetic and well-planned. Troop balance was good. I loved when the rat’s macemen went out hunting the local deer. The main obstacle to a good flow was the AI’s refusal to attack. I’d like to play it updated.
