--The Art of defense--
This map Pits you against 7 AI. You start on a small hill, with Little resources in easy access. Your enemies, however, are another story. They have plenty of accessible resources.
You only advantage, is your Square Hilltop. |

Omg, this map rocks. First glance did not invite me, the centre looking quite shematic and the concept resembling to well-known Upward Alliance. But this one's even harder.
Having height advantage - ok, but to defence small deposits only. Somewhere I HAD to make my way down, in need of hops and cows for leather. There's a one-tile row left for walling in the area. But if you've the "right" opponents you'll soon have to face round towers equipped with catapults throwing chunks all over the castle. So for a long time each board of wood, each stone, each coin counted heavily. Wondered how I made my stand against 2 Saladins, 2 Lionhearts, Wolf, Nazir and Caliph (combining their attacking styles). Slowly I consolidated the defence and extended the economy (lived by a single wheat farm for long). The first castles I had to charge twice, then found the usual track. Smashing the Caliph as dessert was a fine reward.
Two enemy keeps next to each other allows to struggle down the next one from his neighbour's walls.
Noticed one misproportion. The southeastern keeps are placed too near together. The Wolf - his attacking behaviour a tragedy as always - spread his fortification so wide that the Nizar was the looser and partly blocked. Anyway, no-one was saved. |
