Defend the castle. Massive armies of the Pig and Wolf will try to ruin it down.
- the AI is sometimes so stupid, I´ve passed this on hard difficulty, but there are 3 signposts from where armies attack randomly, so next game could be different. On very hard difficulty I´ve had problems with game steadiness. |

Preety nice! Just like wolf's castle from crusader...
P.S: Played it! very nice invasions! I managed to beat on very hard mode. I'll rate soon as I can.[Edited on 01/04/09 @ 09:33 AM]

Playability: 4.5
Ever since I saw the minimap I understand that the map will be excelent, I think almost perfect. This scenario breathtaked me. This time "You will see what means to wage a real warfare". From the first attack to the second one, you will see lots of men ready to die under your command to protect you and others just if they will conquer your massive fortress (the enemies, of course). You will see how lots of pikemen, swordsmen, macemen, archers and crossbows under wolf's and pig's command will fall, one after another, to destroy you. The rules are simple: A massive fortress, a massive army to conquer it. In this scenario the playability amazed me. I never got bored playing this map and I think I'll never do it. This map was one that I enjoyed Extremely.
Balance: 4
What we have here is a better balanced than most scenario but with only 2 invasions one after another the rating goes down. What I mean is that the scenario is a bit too short and it ends just like you would press "Start Game" button. A bit longer if it would be, more ballanced it would become.
Creativity: 4
Well... another excelent category from your map. Even if the story is not so special I liked very much how you used the
'rabbits' event. They are limiting your hops production and making the game harder. Also liked very much the map design and how you used the design tools provided. But what is that a invasion map without invasions? Your scenario breathteked me with the massive invasions and units. Good Job!
The last thing that I might point here is the position of your men and units at the beggining. It gave me the impression that what follows next will be WAR, WAR and DISTRUCTION. And so it was... Well done!
Map Design: 4.5
Your Giant fortress is placed between hills and forests... seems very basics but... No! Everything around the fortress looks so natural, complex and realistic! Here you shown a brilliant command of the map editor including scripting and the terrain modelling tools with some design triks. I have to point that not only the grass looks extremely good but also the hills combined with the growing forest! This one of the best map designs that I saw in SH1! Sincerely Congratulations!
Story/Instructions: 3.5
Your Story is not so special. It's preety good but this category deserves more... especialy in this scenario case.
*Sorry - Here I put 3.5 and on breakdown is 3.0. Now it's done.
Additional Comments:
I must thank you for this extremely enjoyable scenario and to say "Keep going with mapmaking"[Edited on 01/11/09 @ 09:37 AM]

Thank you for your kind review Lord_of_Hell.
This map still have some bugs - maybe update later. First I want to make a siege map, later decided for invasion.
I´m not much alight into story-making, sometimes it´s hard to find the right words(in english). :)
Story could be much better. |

The installation of the castle is tricky, many paths for the enemy to walk / break through. Also many restrictions at the market and at the engineer's guild.
Not defendable on very hard. Succeeded to concentrate my marks at the right spots, equipped all possible towers with ballistae (built some more towers) and gave them full fear factor attack bonus - they were just wiped out in no-time. |

What do you mean by "no defendable on very hard"? That it is impossible on very hard? |

Yep. The enemy marksmen annihilate my ranged units and ballistae, so I've no chance left to kill the invaders one by one.
Same effect of overwhelming in Filords great "Kingdom guard". Well, let's play on hard then. |

Well... it is 'very hard' BUT not impossible.
I passed it with 42% troops lost. On Normal I had 41% troops lost and on Hard I had 48%. All from the first tries.[Edited on 01/11/09 @ 05:39 AM]

lol, nothing special.
I just used moat. At beginning I set G. Speed at 10 and set all troops I can to dig a short moat around the fortress. Then all enemy troops that will dig the moat will be anihilated by my xbows and archers. The only damaging enemyes were the archers and crossbows.
Also I deleted all the stairs leading from the wall to inside the castle. How I said, nothing special, I just planned the invason earlier and quicker.
by the way Filord, this map really deserves more. If you want, update the map with some improvements and I will edit my review.[Edited on 01/11/09 @ 02:00 PM]

Thank you, LoH. I somehow put aside the possibiliy of moat within the short time given. And of course the low game speed (needed on that level in "Akavir", too) helped me to lead and aim very carefully.
And thanks again to Filord. |
