Castle is ruined after last Pig´s attack. Only Lord survived with his guard. This place is very important: it´s the last guard position between Pig´s and our kingdom. The King needs more time to prepare the defense around the country. Hold this point until year 1090 and save some gold for the King, of course...
your first invasion I have played. The start is breathtaking. I thought, wow, that there can still be new settings of the very beginning. A running fight and then quickly new invasions. With two ridiculous archers on my side and a band of swords that would slowly melt away ...
Then I looked around and saw the solution growing - nice forests there. Sent all the first 12 peasants cutting wood. (And some more tactics.)
Was great enjoyment to survive and build up the economy in between. In 1074 the outpost was save. In Juli 1080 it had 100 population which soon counted 200 (a metropolis). Instead of the requested 4.500 (on hard) gold I made 45.000, lol. Stopped training soldiers and sold weapons, too.
You see, after 1074, it's the invasions that prove ridiculous. While I can make the best of the excellent defence position, they should become gradually stronger, much stronger to keep me busy or at least delay my progress. The big army of 1090 might be the adequate quantity in about 1075.
Funny: 30 swordsmen synchronically waving their swords cheering the defeat of an invasion - at game speed 90.

Thanx for comments.
peter2008 - Yes the map could be more challenging at the second part, maybe It need a playtest from a veteran players like you. :)
I will update map and fix "not challenging" invasions after 1074.

Thanks for the honey :). - No and yes to the need for a veteran.
- No. It's tenfold better you made this map than my few comments to it. I like to repeat that the start is great, I love it very much. There's high replayability, I got ideas and found tactics I never would have without. This map seems to be made for pennywise Scots: If you tear down a destroyed wooden trap (i.e., in which an emeny units has fallen) you get 3 boards of wood back. Wow.
In either case, a) there is need you playtest your maps yourself and b) the feeling for what works will attune in you (e.g., when the number of an invasion becomes to low, making the map rather boring on that level.
- Yes, only if you don't playtest yourself. Best do it after every change of the script. Danger of surprises. Like now with the updated map. The event "Turn off repeated invasions" unfortunately applies for ALL of them, for the chronologically later ones, too. Usually one cannot know this. Now you have to update the map again. I'd like to suggest, you just remove those "Turn off" events. The effect of the first unrepeated invasion coming shortly after an initial repeated one highly encreases gameplay. Had few seconds only to replace some traps and command troops around. Several repeated invasions coming interchangingly may rock, too. Please try out yourself, the mission is worth it.
Last - crazy - desire: If you're just doing scripting, perhaps you could to lower the initial invasion around 20%? Otherwise the map still is not beatable for me on very hard. The third invasion finishes me off.

Works great now. Lol, still I suffered a downfall on very hard. With the big invasion in 1074 the whole map turned red. But I made six attempts to reach that point changing strategies and having lots of fun. Thanks again.
