October 964.....Some Crusader troops went trought the desert looking for water...After few days going over the desert they have found a peaceful castle of Amlpous where they got the water....After some time they have decided to stay and take of the castle authority....So they have taken over the stronghold...but they didnt know that this was a important town for traders who where going to travel over that town importing life important resources to the arabian lands.....After some time the trade lines didnt went over that castle so the trade lines where much weaker and some people who life was depending on the resources have died...Some rich trader under name Mar aros has bought a little armie of mercenaries to take over the castle authority and to hold getting the rest of the great crusader army who went to plunder over the lands...
There isnt much time to the crusader armies arrival....but the castle Amlpous is not heavily defended so it can be easy taken with some tactic....
Use your horse archers, shields and balistas to take down the 1st level.....
That will be easy coz the second level is somewhat better defended.....
U got around 3 years until the rest of enemy armie arrives so dont waste your time coz it will be defeat.....when they arrive....
It took me some time to design this map so i made the citadely on a hill and inside it the stone walls as a eyecandy....
Most of my time i have wasted on designing the desert around it and the natural details....
Another eyecandy invasion by my croatian friend, well done!

Your map bolsters me. So it is possbible to shape dunes landscapes quite nicely and impressive. The big point of your map took me a second view: The castle walls are not moved in 3D. The outline doesn't form simple squares but has slight curves and arches (to be seen only in game). The inner defence line you designed as trapezoid. Wow. And the inner ward looks great, too, of course. An admirable job. I will go back, have closer looks and learn from it.
The mission's concept with a relief force approaching works excitingly. Scarce enough the time limit. You built in moments of delay to raise tension. How did you place the xbow upon a rock?
Un/fortunately I won the first try.

From my experience I know that a troop can go trough rocks but not to set o them (tell me if I'm wrong). Probably he press 'stop' when the xbow reached the destination. (the top of rock)

This map was a lot of fun. It was hard to beat, and due to the time limit I was forced to make up quick desicions and that made this map different from other siege maps. I think the time limit is a great addition. But on the other hand it has some negative consequenses to. Because I am forced to make quick desicions it is less replayable. It sure makes up for the balance but now I don't have enough time to change strategy and attack the castle from several sides or even the back for example. But overall it was playability was good.
As I said before the time limit sure had its impact on the balance. It made it a lot harder and I think more fun. Because it gave a lot more satisfaction when finishing the map. Also I think we just got the right amount of troops and the pitch was really treacherus. Overall very good but I think just short of excellent.
I think recreating a desert landscape with a lot of dunes is really hard to make and we don't see maps like these very often because it needs a great amount of skill to create such map. I also found the castle beautiful modelled. The story though wasn't very exceptional.
Map Design: 5
This map was a total eyecatcher and made my eyes melt. The dunes were so beautiful modelled and the castle itself was also very very great and especially the innner second wall. But again I rotated the map several times and looked over the map but couldn't find any ugly points, and dunes require great amount of skill. I give you a very warm applause for your work and effort. It is also very difficult to make a map look good in Crusader and especially a dune landscape is hard but you managed to execute it in almost perfection.
The story wasn't really exceptional. It had understandable lines and was easy to pick up and wasn't a story that we read every day. But it contained some grammar faults and it read somewhat unpleasent.
Surely recommendable for downloading!
