A long, long time ago, a massive meteor crashed somewhere in the middle of what is now the Arabian desert. The ground around it was scorched, and the impact it had on the rocky desert landscape was enormous. A huge indention, big enough to hold a castle was made by the space borne rock. As the millenia passed the meteor was worn away gradually by winds and rain, until all that was left were a few scattered rock fragments, one enormous hole where it had sat for thousands of years, and some very strange ecological impacts...
Where once was a barren desert, now an oasis had formed inside the crater, rich in grass and trees, overflowing with abundant life. But, outside this massive crater, all was still desert; parched, dusty, windswept desert...
This map is definitely a challenge for the player stranded in the middle. Advantages for him include access to more farmland than any of the other four players and reasonably easy access to iron and stone. His major disadvantage is height. Being sunken in the crater, enemy archers and siege equipment can fire upon him from all sides, and retaliation is difficult. The key to defense for the crater-entrapped player is plenty of towers, archers, a quick, decisive attack strategy. Trying to fight a war of attrition here is, quite frankly, suicide.
All AI players should work, but if they don't please comment and let me know!
Please rate and review! I really need the feedback for improvements on this map and future ones!
The concept looks really nice, but do all AI work with the map ? It really reminds me a lot about Broken Dune ( official crusader Skirmish map ) where you also are entrenched between several AI units. Especially in the mission where you cooperate with Frederick AI in the second skirmish trail. That was a really tough mission!
