Now he don’t know that meantime’s his brother lost the battle against Ctiber on the Plaintively fields, but he survived the enemy assault on castle Slavin.
Hi there. This is the second part of my story. I made a model of historical Jerusalem. The city is not exactly copy of Jerusalem in 12. century. , because I have only the image of elder city. But it is a correct copy of old Jerusalem. Landscape is also correct with primeval original. On the top left corner you can see a part of mountain Scopus and the Olive Mountain at the right from her. You can see also from the left side the structuring of Jerusalem on the New city, Central city, Old city and the stronghold with temple. Story will continue. Please send me your comments and reviews on this map and also on my older map castle Slavin. Thanks.
Playability: 4
Playability was pretty good overall. The map was entertaining due to its long and large invasions, and I always get a big smile on my face when large cities burn down. But the AI had some problems. I tried several things and when I let the assasins take control of my gate the slaves didn't respond at all. They had the full oppertunity to burn my city down early but they waited a very long time before they entered the "wooden heaven." Also I saw that in your invasions the siege engines weren't built. This is due to the sprite limit you seriously hit. The game doesn't allow anymore units then 1000 on maps ( except for Crusader Extreme ofcourse ) because after that units will dissapear and don't show up at the map. Also siege engines need some additional space and safe place to build and they didn't because the signpost was full of units. If you don't know what I'm talking about I would like to refer to the forum. Well enough of that. I would also like to suggest ( just like Lord of Hell ) to place several signposts because if you do that attacks become less predictable and the enemy can show up on different sides of the map. This increases replayability because you need to rethink your strategy when the enemy attacks from an other side. Overall it was pretty good but just short of 4. Edit: It was better now, but still not perfect. But overall it was good.
Balance: 4.5
It was a hard map to beat, but as said before I would like to suggest to place several signposts to make it even harder. Everything else is already said by Lord of Hell.
Creativity: 4
I always think recreating a historical battle is very creative. Everyone knows that there are many Jerusalem maps but still it shouldn't be supressed by the fact that such kind of map already excists. But the city could have used a bit more creative peaks ( it was mostly just loads of buildings and it could use a bit more extraordinairy touches ).
Map Design: 4
The city itself was beautifully designed. It was very large and good looking. Also most part of the terrain around the city was looking good but I think the upper part of the map felt a bit empty. There was too much use of trees and such stuff. Also the city could have had a bit more eyecandy but overall I think you did a very good job.
Story/Instructions: 3
The story wasn't really good. Although it is creative to recreate a historical siege and write a story about it I found your story a bit complicated. This was due to the grammar faults and strange sentences I found it hard to read and understand. Sometimes I had to read a part a couple of times.
Edit: Some better details but the main story wasn't changed. It still contains the same faults.
Additional Comments:
Surely recommendable for downloading. I know I criticize a lot but I wish you best of luck in mapmaking. If you have any questions remaining let me know.
