This is my first crusader skirmish map, Middlegate, so please comment! :)
There was once a war between two kingdoms. After the disastrous conflict, both lands lay in turmoil. A huge wall was built to prevent another war from happening. Such a giant stone behemoth was physical proof there would never be trouble ever again.
Or so everyone thought.
Of course, nature slowly wore down the structure over the centuries, the two kingdoms returned to years and years of war, and Middlegate was abandoned and forgotten... until now.
There's only one way to invade your opponent on this map: through the gate. There is plenty of stone and iron on the higher ground. Both players can harass each other's stone and iron production using ranged units, but that's about as far as it gets (no fords available to cross to the other side). Also, I put stairs so powerful siege units (fire ballistas, catapults) can't access the high plateau to gain height advantage. Oasis suitable for farms is quite limited so keep your population somewhat low. Oil rigs and their workers are susceptable to enemy fire as the oil is quite close to the center of the map.
-Try to take control of Middlegate early in the game.
-Guard your buildings well.
-Harass enemy buildings and their workers with ranged units.
AI'S DON'T WORK [well] ON THIS MAP (ive playtested it a lot) because they will start building farms, quarries, etc. on your territory. All you would have to do would be to shoot all the workers and raze the buildings and the AI can pratically do nothing else because he wouldnt have ANY (or at least enough) resources left to build the rest of his castle.
Note: Ive added prebuilt towers to the keeps.
Comment, reviews, and any constructive criticism are extremely welcome and needed :)
(I don't build many skirmish maps)
Perhaps you like to come to GameRanger platform, then we could play your map.

Thanks peter2008 but I cant seem to get it working after downloading it...
Anyways I made a mistake in the map, the river on the left plateau should be a bit more to the side... and siege units can get on high ground, only if built there.
EDIT: I think I gave one player a bit too much oasis...
