High On A Hilltop

Author File Description
File Details
Map Size: 400x400 (Large)
Number of Players: 5
Balance: Unbalanced
Difficulty: Normal
Made with version: 1.2
This map can now use all Ai's (except Sultan Abdul for some reason) and i made the center fortress a little harder to defend and amde the four lords easier to defend with. Center towers are a bit smaller and resources on surrounding lands are more abundant.
(really fun in multiplayer)

Hey! This is my first map. I worked about a week on it making it as best as I could.
I wanted to make a map where four lords took on one on top of a hill fortress.
This is a fairly good match as the four lords in the lower lands have many economic sources and a possibility for huge castle expansions into one major castle. The hilltop lord as the most defensible position with a little economic area and a bit of iron.
Should turn out to be a good time!
(I enjoyed it)
Tell me what you think!
I enjoyed making this and I hope you enjoy playing it.
(Still working on getting the AI's to work well on this map. Also working on getting a good balance going and symmetry in some parts)
Mostly for Multiplayer but can work (somewhat) with AI.

"The men are growing restless." stated the general to his king. high atop the walls, looking out over the growing army before them.
"What makes you say that?" replied the king, shivering from the cool breeze of the early morning, racing atop the parapets.
"The look of fear growing on their faces tells me everything. Our men do not think we can win this fight. Perhaps you should re-consider the treatise?"
"Bah! those fools shall break upon our walls, and we will slaughter them like the swine they are!" retorted the king, swiftly turning about and heading back to the keep.

The sun began to break on the horizon, showing a Large fortress on a hill, men atop the towers, awaiting the oncoming tide of poor souls who dared challenge the King.
Another minute passed and the last battalions marched into place, fully surrounding the fortress. Stalwart and brave, the attackers showed no signs of fear, as they were going to fight and die for what was, in their minds, the right thing to do.
De-throne a tyrant king.

"My un-shakeable brothers!" shouted the General of the eastern army."Today, we unfurl the banners of our lords, and ride to glorious victory! Today, we fight, and tomorrow, we dine in our homes as a free people! No more shall we live under the tyranny of this pompous and arrogant 'king'! We shall show him the meaning of bravery, honor, and justice!"
A mighty roar sounded all around as the four armies shouted as one.

Back atop the walls, the General commanded his men into position.
"Get those ballistae ready! I want every bow and pike atop these walls! We shall show them no mercy!"
The tide of men began to move, revealing catapults and trebuchets being hoisted into position.
One of the soldiers on the wall, quaking, shed a tear, for he knew he would not live to enjoy another day of living.
"God help us."
The catapults fired as the shouted battlecry went up from all sides. This day would end only in blood-soaked land and misery for both sides.

Hey, I see that a bunch of downloads have been happening. Just wondering if anyone enjoyed the map or not. Let me know.
I almost have the AI working on this map so i expect to update soon with a working AI for the four corner lords.
Fatalanger Hi there,

I would recommend to first fully test your map and then upload it. You uploaded it at a point when you already did know it wasn't perfect yet. Just upload it when you think everything is fine.

OK, everything seems to be working now, as long as no AI is in the middle. (or if he is, he doesn;t do much)
other than that, it works fine as far as i can tell.
Let me know of any problems and I'll try to fix em!
