It started as raids. Barbarians, murdering, pillaging and burning the small outlying villages of your fathers empire. He'd had troubles like this before, but this time it felt different. They were organised, too well organised for mere bandits.
Gradually the raids increased as did the numbers of refugees arriving seeking solace and protection from the devastation consuming the land. Your father had no choice, war was the only option.
He gathered his troops and marched out to meet the growing threat. Word was sent to his ally, Daskus El Zhar, asking for his aid. None came.
The campaign was a long and bloody one but eventually the Barbarian hordes were scattered and driven from the kingdom. The ranks of your fathers army had been decimated but the survivors returned home to a heroes welcome. The celebrations began, but lights in the distant darkness spelt out a new terror ...
As your father gazed over the parapets he was greeted by a sea of spears, shields and torches shimmering in the dark. Thousands of soldiers filled the horizon as far as his eye could see, El Zhars soldiers! The raiders were not Barbarians, they were Mercenaries hired by Daskus. His insidious plans had worked, his betrayal complete.
The Siege was short. The remnants of your fathers army, tired, wounded and outnumbered were no match for El Zhars troops. The castle was bombarded and breached within a day.
You were only a child at the time but the memory of having to watch your own fathers execution would be forever with you.
Your people were exiled. You and your mother wandered the wilderness, never settling in any one place for more than a few days. It was hard, certainly not a life for a young boy but it made you strong. As the years passed you were plagued with nightmares as you slowly plotted your vengeance.
When your mother passed away you came to realise it had been 20 years since your fathers kingdom fell. There was nothing left for you here in the vast expanse of emptiness. It was time to go home ...
As you crossed the threshold and stood in the shadow of the ruins you once called home, a cold chill resonated through your body. Was it in anticipation of the bloodshed to come or simply the echoes of the past?
Instructions :
Should be played as a 1vs3 scenario with the human player to the south, next to the ruins.
The player on the left hand side should be an AI who builds small castles ie: The Snake, cos there aint much room!
As i've said, this is my 1st map so if anyone has any improvements/tips/problems, let me know.
