This map was fun when there was some fighting going on, but when there was not, it was slow and boring (could use some more scripting). It was easy to take advantage of the river and snipe many troops before they reach the castle, and mangonels were put to good use to destroy the enemy castle. Made it easy to just run some macemen in to kill the lords once the mangonels had breached the walls.
Average balance, the start was difficult at first getting a few fletchers going as peter mentioned, but after that it becomes easy to exploit the river to destroy the enemy armies. Was not hard after a fair sized army of archers etc are established along the river.
This was nice for creativity, having to travel on a river to attack an enemy, and having the invasions that go the opposite direction, as well as attacking several lords, that is not seen too often.
Map Design: 3.5
The map was nice, the islands were interesting and the terrain was good looking. However, the river and the ability to exploit it for ease in defense drops this score down. Maybe if the river was shorter it would be better, not as long for the enemy to reach the castle.
Just some simple instructions about what is happening overall in the map. No real story with a plot or characters so a low rating here.
Additional Comments: Highlights were the creativity and map design that worked together to make this map enjoyable, although they were part of the flaws as well. Nice job.
