This is the first installment of my latest project 'The conquest of the new world' (see stronghold forum the maproom).
There are seven maps in total, four for crusader-to represent the warmer climes of central america and three for stronghold to represent the mountainous terrian faced by the spanish conquistadors in there quest for riches and the 'city of gold'.
The year is 1598 and you play as Sir Richard Hawkins(no relation to Sir John Hawkins who was associated with Sir Francis Drake)however there are similarities with this scenario-i have added a read me file with the map which explains just about everything.
After making landfall in the new world you set about looking for a treasury to' lighten' and your first spanish noble you come across is Don de Rodente'(yes there it is a bit late for april fools day)Anyway back to the plot,Don de Rodente' is the first of several spanish noble you will face as you blaze a trail across this new land making friends and foes.
I shall release part two for crusader next week.
As always you are welcome to leave any comments or questions here.
Hi Lord Dredde, good to see a new map of yours.
But, lol, not that easy, please. Given a decent mixed army and set against - the Rat, I finished the game twice in few minutes. Great running start.
The landscape is nice. I loved it's overall tone and the arrangement of trees and bushes. Also, the story is interesting and funny.
May I add two general observations.
This is a skirmish-invasion (achieved by changing map type in the editor). Due to this, the economic request is blocked.
Beware that the map is made with 1.2, it won't work with 1.1.

Hello peter2008,thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed the mission.
As for the other missions,i think you might enjoy the challenge as there are very few troops and a lot of enemy troops.
mission2- is a cede scenario
missions 3 and 4 are seige style scenarios and as such you get only a handful of troops, and yes your lord has to get involved!
