Attack, great! I had fun and a challenge, trying to beat it even on Normal. The 'waves' of the archers then crossbowmen reminds of old games. But this time, you're attacking them instead!
Defence, I was able to beat it on very hard because the macemen tried to dig the moat up, and the swordsmen attacked the walls instead of the gates. Perhaps this is for attack only?
Balance: 3
Like stated above, attack was a challenge to play on, but defence was purely simple. However, because I don't want to deduct points from that, I'm rating only on attack.
Creativity: 3.5
The idea of a suger cane is great! But the land around it is too plain. I didn't have much time to look around because right away, my men were attacked.(By the way, I know there's a pause button :P) Try moving the starting men to a safer location?
Map Design: 2.5
The hills were fine. Rocks, what I've been wondering is, why are they there? They seem really unnatural when looking at it. The river seems so too. I see a stream going up to a largely filled moat and fjord. There isn't really anything to look at. Parts of the rivers are disconnected from the ones leading out of the map to the moat.
Story/Instructions: 1.5
Only a small script but just pointing out the obvious.
