New Pig Fortress

peter2008 I've always had sympathy for the Pig. His castle is an easy prey for being smashed, his low walls an very vulnerable to catapult attacks.

Try this fortress.

Good points. The order of the opening steps works well. The walls are strong. Tower engines annoy the neighbourhood. Less valuable buildings at the front edges. It seems far harder now to set the village on fire and to conquer the castle at all. Harsh resistance from the wings of the butterfly shape will confront the intruders.

Bad points. Too expensive. Not yet assassin proof.

Bugs. There are 4 tower ballistas encoded, but the one of the rear middle tower is not set up. Something went wrong with the stairs on the way. Stairs 1 and 5 are coded to be sited simultaneously but the lowest step lacks.
In the AIV Editor, (the small) communal gardens have a 3x3 size while in Crusader they are of 2x2. Wanted gardens for the Pig. The shrines do not really fit to his character.

Venomrider Very nice looking castle, but if the Pig gets high walls I might actually have to use strategy to kill him now. :P

This AI editing is very exciting to me, I hope we see more of this.
Lord_of_Hell Another great modded castle, this time by Peter.

This new pig fortress offers many more opportunities than the original ones.
First, it's stronger. Square towers positioned at border of castle make the castle more fortified. Also, the use of stone walls AND small W. at border, makes the strategy harder. The traps are have an excellent position, as well. Anyone who manages to penetrate the high walls will find another bad points, the traps.
Second advantage of castle is the productivity of troops. Noticed that this castle is different by the original ones. This fotress uses to make a large amount of troops instead of raising lots of money. A great improovement in my opinion.

Not saying that it was easy to beat, but, letting aside all great points, the castle is no mach for a human player (as all other castles). I did win by 6 trebuchets protected by shields (I din't know why Pig didn't countered), 60 HA and 20 assassins. (Pig countered ONLY after I get much closer with HA :(, a great pity). After attracting the maces with HA I charged with assassins.

Overall, a tricky castle. Great job you made here, Peter.

PS: Pls lower the size of picture, it's a bit huge...

Hey, thanks for the impressions.
And, LoH, for playing. Did your assassins climb the front walls?

These new and different castles provide new sizes and spots to deal with. Currently charge them with crossbows and pikes only, ah, and with few ballistas or slaves ...
Lord_of_Hell No, (or depinds of what is the "face of castle") they climbed on the rear wall of the keep and then killed the lord. I Did not destroy any walls, only the towers and GHs.

challengermert its diffrent the other castles this is better
