ACT Three – Rebels
This is a sequel of Act Two: Devil’s Grasp
This time you are a young captain in charge of a small band of skilled mercenaries. Your career started as a soldier in the rebels’ army, and having lost your parents to war when you were young you had no choice but fight to earn a living. You learned too soon that life wasn’t fair, and two years after the rebellion started the main rebel army was already close on the verge of annihilation. The king issued for the capture and execution of all rebels, and you, in the fear of death, fled with a few companions before the king’s troops rounded everyone up. Hungry from running, and days without proper rest, you are under constant threat of being discovered. The villages you visited, concerned for their own safety, refused to help rebels no matter how many you visited. Being close to starvation, you and your band of men finally resorted to violence and plundered what you needed.
Now a few years have passed and you and your band of men are working as mercenaries. A second rebellion was started to which you pay little attention, and when it comes to money you do not discriminate whether you offer your services to the king or the rebels.
You began making a name for yourself and soon ambassadors from both the king and rebels approached you, demanding you join them permanently. Torn between the decisions you do not know which side to choose. Personally you believe that to follow the king will lead to a greater chance of survival; you also fear the king’s wrath if you declined. However, you cannot find it in yourself to force your men to follow a dictator that took the lives of the family and friends of your men. One thing was clear to you, whichever side you choose you need to start preparing weapons, and preferably as soon as possible, before the king lose patience and wipe you off the face of earth.
Gather the required weapons and resources – before 1550
Survive the king’s onslaught – after 1550
Notes: The mission objective will CHANGE after year 1550. If you have not gathered the required resources by 1560 then you will NEED to survive the remaining assaults. You will NOT be able to win if you manage to gather the required resources past 1550.
Losing the lord
Obtain either max good (+5) or max cruelty (-5)
The roads/hills are narrow, which means it is perfect for pitch and traps.
Playing with fear factor is risky! If you start losing population really quickly your fear factors will increase. Note that you’ll lose if you obtain max cruel or good.
A little heads up: thy shall be burned! AKA build some water pots
