Incorrect Doom 2 Mission 2

Author File Description
File Details
Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Normal
Made with version: 1.2
You have gathered troops to take an important fortification that lies in the end of the Great Marsh. The only way to enter Fatazz'(the Pig, not present in this mission) counties, would be to either go the normal but heavily defended way, or to take the way through the Great Marsh. The way through the Great Marsh is however, protected by troops on the mountains surrounding the path, and at the end of the path there's a fortification, that lies in a valley known as "The Stinky Valley". The valley is used for executing and torturing people, and the fort lies on a hill of dead people! You have decided to land your troops at a rocky beach near the fort, as it is quite unguarded because landing there would be extremely dangerous, and it did cost you troops! It is very important that you take the fortification now, because the lords have decided to dig a giant lake, where they put the dead people and fill with water... To seal off the second route to Fatazz' counties for good! Now get to it, capture the castle and crush any foes who foolishly stand in your way!

If you think that there are too little details, think why there isn't ;)

Constant_Threat Yeah! I get my sequel!! Downloading...
Constant_Threat I have waited long for this map, and because of that one would think it to live up to the previous one. But sadly it does not. There are a few things that I must just point out:

There are way too many torture mechanisms. It is just too unrealistic for there to be sooo many. I can understand if you wanted the enemy to be evil an' all, but really, there are just too many.

Also, I don't understand how there can be a river down the middle of those two rocky cliffs. You have sea on one side, land on the other and in the middle is river??

I personally did not complete the map. There were so many archers in the towers it was unbelievable. Even as you start you come under fire and because one, just one pikeman is standing on a rock or something, when you select the pikemen as a whole and send them somewhere they don't move an inch because the one cannot move.

For me, this map is huge let down. I preferred your previous map to this one by far. I think you should spend more time on yours maps to keep them up to standard, like the first Incorrect Doom.

Constant_Threat Yeah well, you just need to spend more time on your maps. If you look at the AMAZING maps by the likes of WarLord_Designs, Sulis, Jayhawk, Stratego, Duke of York, Dougleass, NAT, Kester and many others you will see that not only did they spend long periods making them, they tested them and re-tested and then tested them again. Some even redo them to work bugs out of the maps. Now I know my maps don't fetch much but I am currently working on a much bigger project than my one before, so I hope that it might inspire some.

This is especially useful when you are out of ideas: download some of the extremely good maps and try them out. See if they can inspire creative ideas. Look in the Mapmaking 101 and Editor sections of the site. I gathered many ideas from those areas. But also look around you. Everything in this world can inspire ideas for your next map, if you want them to. Modify real-life things so they can be brought to life in Stronghold. There is much to be learned.

I hope this has been helpful in some way.
