~Ah, the Siege of Siggr, a waste of an effort, but a realization at once. It was a carefully planned strategy, and yet, our strategy failed us. A victory it should have been for we performed the tasks flawlessly. However, fate has decided to intervene with out intentions. For I am the general who commanded the assault.
~Or atleast... I was... .
~The eve of our siege was a fantastic one. The feasts were fit for many kings and nobles. Our victory was certain, because we had the numbers and the stategy laid in our favor. The first but unnoticeable omen was that the air was still. Our lively party failed to recognize this and our plans proceeded.
~Our continuous group of European Mercenaries would weaken them while we send in our major assault parties. For a castle which rarely withstood a siege, their defenses were well thought out. Their archers were sharp as they saw even the lurkers behind the cliffs. Their Arabian soldiers held off better than the European allies. And they were faster too... .
~My little fun was over, the castle's survived too long. I sent more soldiers as they continued to slaughter them. Our most expensive task is being drained by this one little castle. Our catapults were being demolished by their Black Riders. Our swordsmen were being mowed down by the barrage of arrows. We still had enough for a few more rounds.
~I hired plenty of crossbow men as their accuracy could shatter even the higher of archers. Here we are, the Arabs were finally dying. And now, we launch our final strike. The castle was weak and near its end, the food supplies were cut off, the soldiers' moral was low. This was the best part of war.
~With their towers destroyed, most of the soldiers withdrew to the keep. This became a challenge due to the confusion. Friendly fire was to be expected. The asssassins were sent to kill the archers mounted on the walls, but with the enemy's intellect, this wasn't as successful as we thought it would have been. The rest waited until the wall between us and victory was down. As the catapult's operator let go of the lever, a hail of arrows rained down upon the army. They were shooting blindly! The operator was hit through his eye. Shields were held up, cracked, and thrown away. The soldiers rushed into the hole where the wall was down. The archers and slingers shot through the gap where they rushed in. The few surviving were killed by the swordsmen and spearmen they had. Our last line was sprinting through the hole, trying to avoid the arrows. They managed to defeat many of the archers and spearmen, but the lord had his own strength as he killed hundreds of the soldiers. Our dead party failed to recognize this and our plans were succumbed to defeat.
~With the remaining guards with me, the lord and I had a parlay. I was to lay down my siege antics towards this castle and he would let me go. For all I've done to this, that was the only thing I had to do to be free... I dropped my sword. And I took out my knife.
Please ignore the "Map 1." I made this map a few months ago and wanted to make more like it, and considering I completed the story already, I can't really do that.
