During the great war for the freedom of the kingdom, Lord Artanis had a difficult task to accomplish: the capture of one of the pig's outposts near the great swamp. After many and many days of siege, Artanis managed to take the stronghold, but while he was taking his well-hearned rest a scout came. He brought really bad news: the wolf was coming in aid of the pig.The troops were tired and obviously couldn't stand against a new battle. So, you took refuge in the nearby mountains, where you knew that there should have been a castle. Once you arrived you noticed why noone used that place, it almost lacked of iron and stone...and it was obviously weack. Now you can't turn back, because the enemy is near...coming for your head.
I would say difficulty is betwheen normal and hard...if played on very hard, and i suggest it. A beginner may find problems defending in this map.
The challenge is that you can't create walls, only repair, and stone is not cheap to buy. This is no a "sit on a chair and see my troops kill enemies" map. BTW, i enjoyed making and testing it, so i hope you too will like my work.

This hilly landscape has been shaped with fun. Many areas look convincing: varied and vivid. A system of canyons, bottlenecks and serpentines connects fertile lands and reources with the stockpile in the edge of the map. (The Pig's robbers cave?)
Tricky: different valuable starting resources cannot be traded away (and rebought), so that dislocating the stockpile (where?) becomes unlikely. Great: no weapons trading, but getting leather jerkins will be crucial to win the mission. As a result, there's a very colourful coming & going in the village.
Troops leave to the front. While the great gatehouse can be repaired, the walls around it can not and may be demolished by the time. So "not sitting around" means to make sally forth and destroy the hostile engineer's tents or siege engines quickly - and to bring back the knights (initial) or macemen (trained) more quickly. This felt challeging and funny.
On the other side, the invasions are too small to pose a real threat, even on very hard. With one signpost, it actually is the game again of expecting the enemies and slaughter them by all means. The Wolf arrives with a huge force but too late, as usual, because a high number of shooters and some melees will be trained until then.
Master teo, thanks for the map. I sent you a save, so you can see how I used the space eco-wise. Am excited to see more maps of you!
