Oasis of Blood unbalanced - SHC multiplayer skirmish map Map Design by Merle Hofmann aka: "Merle_the_Conqueror" at Stronghold-Knights.com aka: "Lord Hofmann" at stronghold.heavengames.com Description/Storyline: Alas Crusader the road has been long and arduous. Many noble warriors have laid down their lives. Time and again "The Lionheart" has proved himself to be an inept leader, as many of us have experienced first hand. The time has come for a new leader to come forth and lay his claim to the throne. As many as eight "would be kings" have come to this battlefield for just that purpose. Which one will prevail is yet to be determined. This valley has a furtile oasis fed by three rivers. The mountain keeps must fight to gain control over it or they will starve. It will be "a bloody fight" indeed, hence the name "Oasis of Blood". Map Designer Notes: This map was designed for 2 to 4 human players with the remaining keeps to be assigned to AI opponents. Human players should play the mountain keeps at "Deathmatch" settings, advantage to the computer players (ie; 40,000 gold to AI's). AI's should be allied with one another against all human players and humans should have no allies. Other play options could allow for a weak human opponent to have an AI ally or allow two weaker human opponents to be allied with each other. Important Play Notes: In a 2 human, 6 AI opponent game it is important to note that some AI's can't be assigned to the mountain areas because of the way they build their castles. Some AI's do very well in the mountain areas, I can't recall which ones do at the moment. If you see that the AI is going to lock himself into the mountain by building his castle so that he can't send his people out, the best recommendation is to restart the games and assign a different AI there. Comments: This was my first attempt at creating a multiplayer map. It is a big hit with the regular cronies that I play with here in Quincy, Illinois. Let's hear it for Quincy. My son-in-law and I regularly get to play from a choice of 6 other local area people. We have played many of the custom maps from this site. Many are very good and I need to make more of an effort to rate and comment on them. By the same token, if you would like to rate/comment on my maps please do. Enjoy! Merle merlehofmann@yahoo.com |
