This is my first map. There is an old ruined castle in the center of the map, surrounded by the only oasis grass in the map. The players on the left are closer to the oasis, but have less resources. The players on the right are farther away, but have much more resources. If you like alliances, you could play left vs. right. this is just my first map, so any constructive critisism is helpful. let me know of any bugs or problems with the map. I may be able to fix them, or not. I've never done this before.
from the map it looks preety bland and if the ai's castle is too big it will not built in the left so please keep these in mind but the castle ruins is good but add something to it ill comment later once i play the map

thanks for the input, but could you be a little more detailed when you say bland? how do i make it less bland? i can move the castles in on the left toward the middle. I noticed that they built on the plateau of resources also.

This is good for a first map. I would concur with moving the left keeps more towards the middle so they don't cram the plateaus. However, even the keeps on the right don't have enough space if you use AI's with larger castles, like Emir or Wolf.
In this particular case where you want strategic placings of resources, yet enough room for building, you'd want to go for a 400x400 size map. Even if 300x300 are technically considered a six player map, believe me, it rarely works out that way.
A common technique that works well is to place the keeps first, adjust terrain height/cliffs/rocks second, then surround with resources last so you can be sure of enough building room for AI's.
