OSGILIATH
Capital city in the early days of Gondor. Osgiliath was located on the Great River Anduin, with buildings on both banks of the river. Minas Tirith was about 15 miles from Osgiliath on the western side of the Anduin. On the eastern side was the land of Ithilien between the river and the borders of Mordor.

Osgiliath was a large and beautiful city. One of its main buildings was the Dome of Stars, where the chief palantir was kept. The Kings of Gondor ruled from the Great Hall of Osgiliath and they dwelled in the King's House.
Between the two parts of the city was a great stone bridge with towers and houses upon it, and there were a number of lesser bridges as well. On the river banks were landings for the ships that carried people and trade goods up and down the Anduin from Wilderland in the north to the Bay of Belfalas in the south. A road led through Osgiliath between Minas Ithil (later Minas Morgul) on the east side of the river and Minas Anor (later Minas Tirith) on the west side. The road then continued westward through the Gap of Rohan and turned north to Fornost in the North-kingdom of Arnor. In the early days of Gondor, this was called the Royal Road, later known as the Great West Road and the North-South Road.
Osgiliath was founded by Isildur and Anarion, the sons of Elendil, when the realm of Gondor was established in 3320 of the Second Age. Elendil, the High King, dwelled in the North-kingdom of Arnor while his sons jointly ruled Gondor in the south. Their thrones were side by side in the Great Hall of Osgiliath.
Sauron's forces in East Osgiliath had secretly been building many barges and floating bridges and siege-towers in preparation for the assault. On March 12, a host of Orcs arrived from Minas Morgul led by the Lord of the Nazgul, joined by regiments of Haradrim from the South.


TIPS
-pikeman and swordsman use in necessity , give more time archers on destruction enemies.
-majority of enemy's strengths attacks main bridge (with tower)
-gates over riverside can use as position for archers
-be careful on hostile crossbowmen, who can do large damages in your army
-the eastern side of city occupied by enemy attack really after all invasions

UPDATE
-I reduced quantity possessed archers, game stood more difficult

return of Yasko Nice to see some Tolkien based maps with Silmarillion/early ages themes.

Looks pretty good by the minimap. Can't wait to view it in game.
lord dredde This is the first L.O.T.R Map i have downloaded in about a year and it looks impressive-i was watching 'the return of the king' last week and look forward to playing your scenario-well done!

Hi. It's good to see that people still make Lotr maps. :)

Playability: 4.5
All in all nearly perfect. The only thing to do better is that you cannot station your archers on the walls. The AI is very good and it's
troop movements are very realistic. It was fun to play. :-)

Balance: 4
It's very hard and I must admit that I didn't bet it yet, but I think it should be possible. As I am not that good at those minimalist
scenarios, the balance is good, I suppose. ;-)

Creativity: 4
It's a nice version of Osgiliath. I especially like the way you used
nearly only walls or broke walls instead of buildings. It puts the
focus on the military aspect, which is the most important thing in a
map about the invasion of Osgiliath. As there is no economic part, the
scenario is quite short and applies Occam's razor.

Map Design: 4.5
The whole city has a quite straight design and looks very good. I like
the parts in and at the river the most. The ruins look most realistic
there. It is good, that you did not make the map/the city too large,
because otherwise big areas of the city would be just useless. In
conclusion there is no ugly point at the map and there is a good
balance between the empty fields outside the city and the crowded city
itself.

Story/Instructions: 4
Good summary of Tolkien's story.

Additional Comments:
If you like Lotr or very hard but short invasion scenarios, give it a try!
