Don't be too hard on yourself there. Even just looking a the minimap, it looks great! You can see the time spent on creating this map and it will be greatly apreciated! |

Hmm... Good map, but grass looks some ugly. You could make some normal grass, without this burnt. |

I think that it takes quite a bit of effort to achieve the burnt effect :) |

I agree with ericgolf.
This "burnt" look is definitely not ugly, but provides a nice green grassland without looking boring.
Overall a great map!

I think that burned grass fit to this map, but - as I wrote - Arn_AFe could make SOME normal grass.
Map is generally ok. |

EXCELLENT use of the terrain maker, mate. A nice change from the plain green grassy hill country that seems to be prevalant on this site. Good to see another map make use of 'snow', also. Been too long.
Keep designing!

L_K, good to see you around. I haven't seen you in about 2 years. lol
The map design looks great, and wonderful use of the snow. Would make for a good freebuild. |

Oh, I'm still around. Haven't had time sadly due to finishing my Masters, but I'll probably pop in a bit more often over the summer. Maybe submit a map or two and show these younglings how it's done. lol ;)
Anyway, I think I'll actually review this one. |

Playability: Overall, an excellent map. What prevented a 5 from me for this one will be explained in the balance section of the review. (4.5/5)
Balance: The score is on the high side of average, and this was why playability got a bit of a reduction. It's actually not even something you could have helped. The terrain is fantastic, absolutely no question about that. The issue is its makeup leaves little space for the player to start and build. So, in a sense, you've been hoisted by your own petard. I don't expect the entire map to be open to building, obviously, but there was little space overall. (3.5/5)
Creativity: Both this category and the next recieve top marks. While this sort of thing HAS been done before, it is still sort of rare to see, and always a pleasure to explore. (4.5/5)
Map Design: Again, this is a concept that has been done before, but it is not one often seen. It looks like you put a good deal of time into making it. And even if you didn't, it still LOOKS as if you did. Well done. (4.5/5)
Story/Instructions: Got to unfortunately pull it down here. I know it's a freebuild, so there's no invasion, no conflict, and no point for a story. First two, true. Last one, not true. Even if it's a paragraph or two, it will still be SOMETHING. Why have you men and you come here? What's so special about this place? Why have you decided to settle? Are you hiding from someone and thus up in the mountains? Are you protecting something? Questions like this can be answered with a short story. (3/5)
Additional Comments: Overall, this map was well done. Slight issues for me here and there, but it is nothing I would consider too major, and easily fixed. Keep designing!
Regards,
L_K
