Did a map called Rome... yep.... and this be the redo or revamp.... :
From the emperor You've received a dumpy city filled with disease and pestilence, ur goal, protect that piece of junk:
A. Because its one of the only cities left that is fit to produce goods (people are still alive) and Rome needs some baddddly,
B. To buy rome time to pull it together
C. because u were told too
Your ganna face some of the enemies men and prolly some bandits, so keep on the defensive. Once you've gathered the goods you can high tale it outa there. But be careful, an awfully large army is on its way, its predicted it will get to you in about 10 years, so dont mess around.
Iave to say that this was the worst map I have ever "played", as
playing this was impossible, a totally unplayable map, in the
beginning the frequent fire, wolf and plague events destroy half of the city and brings down the popularity to 0 in a few secs.
The balance of this map is very bad too. Only couples of events are thrown in, and the economic goals are impssible too, producing 800 breads, 500 woods and 10000 golds in this mission is like drinking water in Hell. And the last invasion of 500 men... they have destroyed
the whole "city" in a few minutes.
Creativity/Map Design: 2
There's nothing creative in this map, the scripting shows that you've spent nearly half a minute putting in those events.
The map design is very bad, the whole area looks unrealistic and bad. The "city" is actually not a city, it misses a lot of things, which could make it look like a city, and it needs much more detail to look like Rome(circle form colosseum, horse race, etc.), but it has some nice eye-candy attempts, including the colosseum and the aqueduct. It seems you have spent only a few minutes with the design, you can improve your maps only by spending much much more time on them, although this idea has the potenital, you only have to put mroe thought into it and then expand it more.
No story, just some instructions.
This map is the example of what happens if the designer puts no thought into the map. The map lacks all sorts of playtesting.
Note: a challenging map is not an impossible, unplayable map, where the player is meant to collect extremely huge amounts of goods while fending off extremely large invasions with no defences.
