The kings advisor Nuton has taken the liberty of delivering a message from the king. The king is on a campaign and his castles defences are weakening due to sending more troops to the battle fields.
|Made with version:
The king has asked that you relocate on a large piece of land with a large river and good supply of resources. He wants you to restock his armoury with bows and spears before his castle falls.
Many bandit caves lurk near the county so be careful and be ready. They are not the least of the problems as wolves and bears live in and around the county. Some of the rats scouts have been seen a couple of miles away and will be here in a couple of years.

Fine that you start making maps also for SH1.
This one feels like a funny first trial.
Mayhem, chaos: yes :), but hard: no. The coming of a Rat invasion very early gave me quite a turn.
Yet it is possible to make lots of gold by selling food and - simply buy the bows requested.
peter2008 i have updated my file and now you have to obtain spears
you cannot buy spears but you can buy bows
There are far more events and attacks
Thx for the comment it really opened my eyes
Imo, it's a funny, busy, almost epic feeling mission, now.
Reasonably to allow buying bows: early and instantly. A special thrilling moment when bandits have raided just before another invasion arrives. How can you get more troops then?
The PYOK style opens different focal points as for economy. Bought lots of bows, and tons of stone to create a nice castle.

The mission was quite enjoyable, the gameplay was good. I sat up my camp on the hill, close to the iron deposits, built all my economical buildings on the southern part draw a some lines of wall on the hill to fully protect everything from the bandits. I easily collected all the spears and by selling iron I had enough money to buy lots of stone and bows to fortifie my fort. By the end of the mission I had about 100 archers in the towers, and with them I easily managed to beat all the weak invasions.
As I've said the mission was very easy, and mostly beacuse of the only one signpost in the northern part of the map, this occured that I could use the map itself at my advantage. After I had my wall built on the hill, my economy was totally protected by all threats. Some more signposts at various positions, more fords, stronger invasions and a lose-time would probably make the scenario much more challenging and more enjoyable.
The scenario was overall creative. It mostly showed up in the ruins. Well, I have nothing more to tell here, the creativity of the map is simply at an average level.
Map Design: 2
Not bad for a first one. I liked the hills in the northern parn of the map, and ruins looked really cool, though there are many bad aspects and design mistakes of the map, like: only one signpost is added in the north-eastern area, and that area is cut off from the other parts by rivers, only the weird looking hill connects it with the larger part of the map, so some fords could be added, as stated above at balance. At some parts the flowing of the river looked very surreal and the mountains from which the rivers run down also looked very bad and another bad part, that the large iron deposit in the southern part is inaccessable. In this map, too many design mistakes affect the playability in a negative way, so instead of a 2.5 I give only a 2.
A good explanation about the map is present both in the downlaod and map descriptions. The objectives and starting goods are also stated here, which always is a good point. Though the story is very short and far from a well-written one, so 2.5 seems to be a fair score here.
