Oblivion Map Pack

Author File Description
w0lf10
File Details
Map Size: 400x400 (Large)
Difficulty: Normal
Made with version: 1.2
Minimap:
This map pack consists of the castles Anvil, Bruma and Bravil.

I tried ti create the imperial city but i stopped after seven turns.

All of these maps are simple invasion and the objectives are to kill all enemies and have no invasions left.

These arent hard maps i just made them to have fun on.

Adam the First I found a problem playing the scenario, in the editor I saw you added some events and invasions, but the events don't play for me only the invasions appear, I don't know what could be the problem. In my review I wrote that there are no events, sorry for that, but they don't appeared.(Maybe this could be my Strongholds problem.)
Anyway I don't know what could be the problem.
Will reinstall Stronghold, and replay the missions and will write a new review.

(Sorry for English.)

I WILL RETEST THE MAPS FOR YOU AND IF THERE ARE PROBLEMS I WILL UPDATE THE MAP THX FOR THE COMMENT.
Adam the First I had to reinstall Stronghold, because some files were corrupt, after it I played your maps again and there were no problems. Will write a new review soon. :)

Playability: 4
I really enjoyed playing these maps, there were a lot of events, but not in a short time, that would make it impossible and I found it challenging.

Balance: 4
These maps are well balanced, the events hadn't done serious damages to the economy, though creating large enough armies to survive the invasions were quite a challenge.

Creativity: 2.5
Well, creativity... the castles look very simple, I found only a few eyecandy tries, I know that eycandy is the hardest to make in the map, but your maps will look creative only if you spend that +20hours (maybe weeks?) with eyecandy-ing.

Map Design: 3.5
The landscape looked pretty good, but had a lot of unfinished parts and some very unnatural parts(the strangely flowing river on the Bruma map and the square shaped mountains).

Story/Instructions: 2
Ah the story...sadly only a few lines in every missions, don't tells a lot about the map and not original.

Additional Comments:
You have talent in map making, but you're lazy, you don't have that ambition for perfection, if you spend + 2-3 days or weeks months with your maps, you will make much much better ones.

Only one thing to note: Quality is better than quantity.

i hve updated the maps i hve added in bravil bridges anf forts with bandits outside.
Added more buildings and good things and changed the inner wall.
i made some other minor changes in bravil and bruma
peter2008 All three maps are creative, overall or in detail. It becomes clear that w0lf10 has lots of fun exploring the SH1 editor. And he makes steady progress as for tricks and nuances of installation. So we get challenges on their own. Necessary to find out how each castle and - the more - each village economy works to reorganize things and get troops trained.

Bruma Assault: No weapons trading!

Revenge on Brazil (minimap above): pretty "weird", lol. Beware of no wood trading, so get your returns done most quickly. Happy times then to transform bread into taxes into bows.

Siege of Anvil: nice maze of lowered walls. Hard job to get the eco running smoothly, and to defend the huge outer walls with few and partly weak troops.

I find it annoying when some good appears to be useable but in fact isn't. Like pitch rigs or traps allowed, but no pitch deposits in the swamp (Bruma) or on the map/at the market at all (Anvil). Hunters posts, but no deer - maybe a winking joke?

The items of the updates did not change the gameplay. Placing good things could be left to the players (one more decision to make, a problem solved.)

w0lf10, please let someone playtest your next maps and give you a piece of his/her mind. :)
Senseisan May I suggest a little thing whitch can improve the interest of such maps ?
Adding an easy to fullfit winning criterium ( such as stockpiling 10 spears ... ) allows the player to build a nice stronghold after the last invaders killed .

i dont do that because its an invasion map not an economic map
Senseisan Yes , I understand that , but I felt a bit frustrated at the end , whith some ideas about setting an impressive stronghold on the map ( as your maps in most cases offer opportunities for ...) and the victory screen appears ...

(I am french and apologize for my poor english , as I learned it fifty years ago ...)

Edit Anvil is very easy to defend...
The wood problem of Brazil can be solved , ( just spit in your hands and dig around a forest ...)
