While away helping the wolf with problems in his home county the pig return to find his castle in your occupation. He was furious and has sent huge hordes of men to retake your castle. If you succeed the king has promised you that county and you may want to sprouse it up a little after dealing with the pig.

You must at all costs protect the castle as it has the only passage to the kings county.
Use the pitch as a good defence as you may nedd because thousands of soldiers are coming your way.


I think that this map is the best map i have ever made as i am not too good at making maps. Please comment or review the map because i like to know what people think of it.

Adam the First It seems like, it's a remake of the pig's castle from Mission 15 and 18...

And if you spend more time making a map, you would make much much much better ones.

The mission was tooooooo easy and boring, nothing happened, only 3 large groups attacked, and the first invasion don't appears. 28k starting gold... That's too much, bought a lot of swords and armors, crossbows, etc. After making 100 crossbowmen and a lot of swordsman, I sit back and watched as they grind the large armies. The economic goals...yeah, didn't completed, as I mentioned, nothing happened, it was boring.

ADVICE: You should really playtest your maps...

Senseisan Seems that crossbows can't be bought in this scenario .
Playing at VH level , , after all invaders killed ( +- 15 minutes , 0% losses ...)I played the map as a sandbox to build a nice little fortified city ...

Nota Whith sutch a treasury and pitch available at the market , easy to straight burn nearly all invaders , whith a pitch grid and some " Bickford's " to fire it ...
BattleMage Playability: 2
The map was really unplayable there were way too much resources and the attacks were poorly scripted. I hardly did anything just watched most of the time. There were 2 major problems. First I was really well prepared with lost of weapons and a lot of gold. That has a negative impact on the balance as the enemy was weak and not suited for the siege. And thats the second problem the enemy had way too little moat diggers. And compared to all of the ranged units they just didn't stand a chance and were mowed down quickly. I would advise you to script longer or repeated invasions that way the balance issue will be fixed.

Balance: 1.5
As I said the balance is quite messed up you should spend more time playtesting. A good idea is to leave the player with fewer options no tower mangonels, so much soldier, and trade availabilities. Also the moat was a very difficult part for the AI as they tend to fill the right and left sides instead of the central you should adress that as well.

Creativity: 2.5
It's an interesting idea but nothing uniqe you borrowed an exsiting map and layed it with your ideas. I'm not saying it's bad I think we all like the Pig missions in stronghold and this is a good addition, but it just didn't grab me in a special way. Mabye you should have modded the castle a bit. Or think of it that way. Your playing the Pig and have to rebuild the castle from the first siege mission in stronghold where we all destroyed it. That would explain the need of stone and meanwhile you could have scripted invasions from Sir Longarm's forces you know? That would stick out as a very creative approach.

Map Design: 2
Well, you barely did anything (if anything I'm not sure) and shouldn't expect a high score for this. Again I repeat myself you should have explored different options here.

Story/Instructions: 3.5
There was a small story provided explaining what's the idea but nothing more than that so I can't really award a higher score here.

Additional Comments:
Although it's not a straight "A" review I can assure you that this idea has the potential, you just had to expand it more. The main problem here was the absence of your own imagination. Pay more attention to the problems I have addresed and I can guarantee you that your mapmaking skills will dramatically rise.

Senseisan When shields ,moats and bows/crossbows available , the only invaders whith a little efficiency are pikemen .
Others ( spearmen , bowmen , crossbowmen ,macemen , monks ) are mowned before they can begin to attack the moat and the " tanks" ( spademen and knights ) are stuck ...

Moats are a very strong defence , I never lose at VH whith moat and range weapons , whatever strenght beeing invaders .
