Author File Description
File Details
Map Size: 400x400 (Large)
Difficulty: Hard
Made with version: 1.1
Bad News have reached our beautiful castle.
Its been a long time we could live in Peace, together with our rendeers. Well thats how its been...
A warlord is wandering through our lands, my good friends told me to do something about it but i ignored their advices.
I still hope that nothing will happen.

But in case please take care of our home.

there are two files in the zip one with the castle ....played and one with less deer and far more difficult its named "less deer more fear" well the title speaks for himself

the following tips may ruin the experience to find them out for yourself!

- in the north from the castle are some old ruins their stone might be a good help to strengthen the gates or to repair them if there is a chance.

- some warriors are still in the village ...they may not be many but we need anyone we can get

- better not leave your back too open they might attack the second gatehouse

- we still have some bows that we brought for Huntig the wolfs they could be of use but for that money is needed

- use the rendeerfat wise its not much but burns very good

- we dont have much money left so you better earn some before its too late

Map Design5.0
Playability: 5
The gameplay of this scenario is very entertaining. First, I was stunned by the large numbers of enemies, and I had no idea how would I win since I was greatly outnumbered. My only advantage was the height and the ability to train more soldiers, however it was not enough, a very effective strategy was needed in order to win. I also had to change the position of my troops frequenly, as the enemy atatcked from two sides, and if I left my lord alone in the keep, he could easily be shot off by the enemy crossbowmen. After I found out the key strategy, I still lost a couple of times, but after correcting my mistakes, I could win this awesome invasion. I don't write a walkthrough here, but I tell that the key manouvers should be done in the short time before the invasions, so a clever management of time is also needed, even on the lowest game-speed. The map is simply challenging and fun, and it has a very big replay value, so nothing stops me in giving a full five here.

Balance: 4.5
The balance was almost perfect. It took me a few tries to win. However, it haven't took me a lot to find out the most effective strategy; I still failed with that strategy, thanks to some misclicks, but I corrected my little mistakes and could achieve winning in quite a simple(not easy!-see palyability) way.

Creativity: 5
Outstanding creativity, I have to say! From the large invasion waves attacking from two sides, through the design tricks used to the structure of the map, I loved all aspects of this scenario. And it shows up in all aspects that the author is highly talented and can come up with very creative ideas. The design is very original, which also adds to the creativity.

Map Design: 5
I just loved the way the author caught the feeling of a northern landscape, it is beautiful and wild. The river looks awesome, so as the glaciers, the terrain tools are used moderatly and wisely. The best part of the map, however is the castle, I enjoy just looking at it. The custom crenallations and towers look stunning, and all the wall tricks are used at their full potential. The ruins, the lakes and the small villages are also wonderfully designed. Great job!

Story/Instructions: 3
This is the weakest part of the map, sadly only a few lines are axplaining the situation, however there are instructions/hints and a detailed description page with the use of html and pictures. So a 3 is fairly given here.
