A pure and dense, fascinating eco scenario which in arrangement and course reminds one of the hard Calanais mission. In a lonely and "godforsaken" (description) region, you are thrown back to the core elements of Stronghold gameplay: balancing popularity and using the market.
No tree left there, and a valley so uneven that you have to struggle for finding some space for dairy farms. Remarkably few buildings are allowed. How to spend the initial wood? "Deer mountains" hints you to include hunting from early on.
You have to scrimp and save for many goods which you can only buy: more wood for buildings and weapons, hops and wheat. Processing wheat allows a little income, at least.
Bandits and wolves strike the village, and if you didn't quite make it, they will ravage it. I started on Very hard and needed some tries to find out the appropriate curve of best development. Stayed excited until the victory in December 1068.
