This is a part invasion and part economic, it really is just trying out different castle designs, this is the first in a series of designs.
I hope you find it enjoyable to play.
Playability: 4/5. Whilst this map is a little slow initially, it certainly pays to be patient and I found this to be a good, well constructed invasion/economic scenario. Enjoyable throughout, there are a few events incorporated within the design and one particularly nasty theft from granary which had me cursing at the screen! Good effort.
Balance: 4/5. As above, I initially found this a little easy, having plenty of time to set my stall out in meeting the economic goals. It gets tougher... the invasions increase in size and whilst the castle really assists you in the defence of your goal, there were some tasty battles to be fought. Winnable, even on hard setting, but again solid and well designed.
Creativity: 3/5. Whilst nothing radically new, credit is given to a good scenario and generally above average. The invasion/economic map is one of my favourites, giving you plenty to do throughout the span of the map.
Map Design: 4/5. Very good. An interesting landscape with lots going on and giving the impression of scale. The terrain has been modelled well. The castle is imposing and beautifully designed, unique in layout. Impressive work.
Story/Instructions: 3/5. Good, easy to read and follow but needed a little bit more substance and quantity.
A decent map, which I genuinely enjoyed playing. Never boring, with enough to do. The economic goals on hard were pretty taxing, normal setting is preferred by the author and should be downloaded. Good stuff!
