Your quest against the Pig was going well: while the king was being rescued you succeded to keep the Pig busy. Now, retreating from the previous stronghold, you are forced to take refuge on a small castle near the sea. The Pig is after you and don't have the time for a retreat. Now the matter is simple: use all you can think to survive because the Pig wants revenge and the Wolf is coming. The Pig is likely to attack with lots of soldiers, but beware of the wolf: scouts say that he is sending a knights and siege weapons. Also, in this place there is nor iron nor stone, and the market can't be replaced. (stone walls and portals as well).
|Made with version:
1- use knights against siege weapons
2- fire, fire and fire. Burn them!
3- 900 gold at start is meant to buy some goods. Choose carefully, because earn money is harder than you think
Comment and review please! Not only they please me, but also help me to understand how to make better maps.

Wow this is a big improvment from your last map. Since you want advise, I'll give you some constructive criticism :)
(You probably read the first two from me on one of your previous maps.)
1) I like your castles. They are pretty fun to play with and have a lot of eyecandy. However, if you want a realistic looking castle, you should use less 90 degree angles. The castle will look much more realistic.
2) You had too much empty land around your castle. I had too much room to build farms and other buildings, so the granary thefts had no effect on me. The vast amount of land made it relatively easy. Try to place more rocks or maybe add some height to the land.
3) Your first few invasions were very easy to beat. I used the starting archers to easily take them out. Later, the invasions became a bit harder, but by then I had a large supply of crossbowmen and macemen to take them out.
If I had to rate this, it would be like this:
Map Design- 3.5/5

Thanks Knight of Russia! :)
I will try to remember your advises! You see, my main problem is that i find very hard making a good landscape. Slowly i'm trying to make more realistic enviroiment...all i need is practise.
Next maps will be better i hope, will spend more time in the making and...no more castle with only 90 degrees angles :)
In the mean time, while i slowly improve...you all will have to frown and point my errors :)
Constructive criticism is always well accepted!

If landscape is your mapmaking issue that needs improvement, besides practice I recommend downloading some scenarios rated with 5s on the Map Desig. Study them and you'll get the idea of a realistic terrain.

This map has a really entertaining gameplay. Not too long and not too short. I had great time playing it. The pigs forces were easy to fend off, and first I underestimated the mission, which occured the wolf wiping me out. The last invasion is very strong and a good strategy is needed to kill the attacking foes. The key to win is training as many archers as you can and a careful use of the pitch ditches and fire. With the money I never had any problems, I had a total of ~1600 golds, which was enough to train 93 archers and build a few fletchers.
The balance was excellent, I've lost a total of 2 times before I won. The player just can't sit back and watch everything, the attacking forces are clever and they attack from all directions, the player has to protect the buildings and that requiers a careful management of troops. The pitches shoud be used only against the wolf's men, as they are many and have swordsmen amongst them. All parts of the castle must be protected and the player can't have a boring minute on this map.
An avarege map in creativity: A simple fend off the invasiosn map. The castle didn't look so good however its structure was creative, as I've mentioned it was hard to protect. This map is a very good idea, and with a better design and scripting, the score would probably be higher.
Map Design: 3.5
Very good map design. The hills, the roads and the see looked quite good. However the castle was irrealistic, the hill with lots of trees before the back-gate lookedu ugly and the surrounding are was too plain as Knight of Russia already said.. More shrubbery/bushes and trees could be added there.
A short story wich explains the situation well, however it doesn't read well and isn't that good like the average stories. I suggest you to spend much more time with your stories. "The king sends you there to fight with -enemy name-" is a boring style of writing and 90% of the map stories start with a sentence like this. Try to write something more original, read the Sylvandell stories by Sulis or the story of the Savior of Leugim campaign. You can learn a lot from them. ;)
