Using all of his strength and resolve, Sir William has unwittingly defended the true usurper from his enemies. Now the king, aware of the trouble this young man might cause, is preparing to send him on a mission to a remote, secluded, and dangerous place.
Location location location is the key to this map. Put your keep in the right place and it's downright fun to play.

A very good scenario!
PLAYABILITY: Fun to play throughout, but the larger invasions which never really "invaded" detracted from the flow.
BALANCE: If so many of the invasions did not just sit there at the edge of the map, this would have been tough to complete. The natural disasters were strong enough to affect game play, but not to cause me to lose (although one fire about did me in, despite having a large number of wells).
CREATIVITY: Excellent design of both the scenario and map. I'm not sure since I only played it once, but the location where you place your Castle seems thekey decision you will make on this map.
MAP DESIGN: Good detail. It gives you lots of options about how to play the scenario.
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: The storyline continues to entertain!
This is one of the best Usurper scenarios so far.

As always a great mission. I was somewhat dissapointed that the "invasions" didn't invade. I ended up having to go "invade" the invaders. Other than that down side, I found that the bad events were well timed and added difficultly to the mission. The map design was really interesting and I liked that there was already enemy on the map.

I have to disagree slightly with the previous reviewers about this being one of the best Usurpers. It was much more drawn out than some of the previous maps but was difficult and chalenging. The map was a long one with many distractions to your cause, eg the fire that rage through your settlement. This was a hard, creative map and nice idea of islands and their arrangment so it was nearly a 4 with the map design. Some scenery was lacking however so a 3 seemed fair. For story and instructions it got a 5 but only due to the super storylne next to the map. More is needed on the site itself I seem to feel. Overrall rather a too long drawn out affair but still continuing the very good string of maps produced Gordon Farrel. Good work.
