Feudal Fight

Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Normal
Made with version: 1.2
Hi all,

Recently I have taken a liking for mapmaking with the cede event.

--> For those who don't know what the cede event is, it causes everything owned by an opposing team to be converted to your side. But you can add conditions.

In this map, the player is in control of a castle town to the north. A very short distance away is the
enemy citadel. Some highground separates both sides but that is not enough to stop attacks.
I put this project at a easy-normal difficulty, as I am not an excellent economic player but still managed to build up a strong force.
This is a new map based on the time period of the Dark Ages, with a fictional setting and characters.
The objective is to capture the enemy citadel whilst holding your own, and meeting the economic goals. But you will have to watch out, as the enemy rebels will send its minions to crush you once and for all. You play as a captain of a force sent to investigate recent incidents that have occurred near the enemy town.
I have tried to design this map so it resembles a rough, overall tutorial of Stronghold gameplay. This incorporates holding off invasions, meeting economic objectives, and sieging enemy castles, as well as some necessary micromanaging.

- Story -

It is the year 1007.
The county of Ny'yr has caught the attention of the Baron, who has been away.
The people of Ny'yr have always been trustworthy and honest individuals, but secretly the Baron's steward is a cruel man. The
Baron knows little of this - in fact, he recently raised new taxes. Combined with a few strange events a short while ago, this
only aggravates the Baron's paranoia.

In fact, Ny'yr has been completely loyal all along, but the steward is hatching a plot.

Many years ago, the previous steward had also betrayed the Baron. Ny'yr was swiftly besieged and the steward was executed.
The inhabitants were punished severely and never regained full the nobility's full trust.
The current steward was promoted to the position of power to replace him. He began doing evil deeds behind the Baron's back,
but no one ever found cause to accuse him of any crime.

So it seems, alas, that there is nothing to do but to send someone to uncover the truth...

- Hints -

Enemies attack from 3 different locations to the west and east of the citadel, and the forest. You can use the
choke points to your advantage thus. Also, the drawbridge tower can be used to lure enemy troops.
There are several different points in the game when you can siege the enemy castle. They are:

1) The years between the big invasions
2) After the invasions.

The second suggestion is the easier path to take. However, there is actually no iron on this map, the only
iron is owned by the rebels AND a winning condition is to obtain 22 metal armour. As well, you can get access
to highpowered swords, pikes, and maces if you have the iron.
At the start of the game, focus on driving out the invading force, then focus on food and bows, xbows.
Try to save xbows at the start and recruit xbows after bows, when you begin building dairy farms on the
highland. (Hint, hint!)
Use boiling oil wisely- limited pitch oil. Also save knights as you can't recruit more of them. Save them xbows/bows.
Building a chapel will trigger at least one traveling fair event. There are a total of three, at 1%, 15%, and 40%.

The rest depends on your sieging abilities.

The hints and mini story can be found in the .zip file, if needed.
Thanks and enjoy!

palat, The minimap, map size, version, and difficulty fields came through here empty. To add the minimap I had to guess at the others. Could you use the update button to set those to their correct values?

Yes, sorry about that.
Does firewall affect the upload process? I may have accidentally left it on highest settings when I uploaded the map.
Not sure what would have caused it.
