Acre(Akko) Stronghold - "Inside struggles"

Introduction

This is a recreation of the Acre Stronghold as a map with economical targets. The city map on which I recreated it was from the end of medieval times however so any siege would've been fictional. I have made it within two days (less than 12 hours altogether) but I think it ended up quite nice. The player has 16 years to achieve the following tasks:
> Population 500
> Gold 25,000
> Blessed 25%
> Ale coverage 100%
> Fruits 500
> Iron ingots 500
> Swords 300
> Armors 300

In this map, GOLD is the key to success because the iron mines are far too few to supply the development of 300 swords and armors AND 500 iron ingots stored fast enough therefore the player has to buy iron constantly, which we all know it's not that cheap. Taxes and a good food production is also requied. The events are scripted by conditions and not by time.

I also wrote a couple of hints, I suggest reading them after you played the map at least once (unless you win it from the first try).

Middle-ages Castle History

Following the defeat of the Byzantine army of Heraclius by the Muslim army of Khalid ibn al-Walid in the Battle of Yarmouk, and the capitulation of the Christian city of Jerusalem to the Caliph Umar, Acre came under the rule of the Arab caliphate beginning in 638. The Arab conquest brought a revival to the town of Acre, and it served as the main port of Palestine through the Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates that followed, and through Crusader rule into the 13th century.

It was captured by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem in 1104 in the First Crusade and the Crusaders also made the town their chief port in Palestine. Around 1170 it became the main port of the eastern Mediterranean, and the kingdom of Jerusalem was regarded in the west as enormously wealthy above all because of Acre.

According to an English contemporary, it provided more for the Crusader crown than the total revenues of the king of England. It was re-taken by Saladin in 1187, and unexpectedly besieged by Guy of Lusignan reinforced by Pisan naval and ground forces at first, in August 1189. But it was not captured until July 1191 by Richard I of England, Philip of France, Leopold of Austria with what was left of the German army and the rest of the crusader's army. It then became the capital of the remnant of the Kingdom of Jerusalem in 1192. In 1229 it was placed under the control of the Knights Hospitaller. The Crusaders called the city "Acre" or "Saint-Jean d'Acre" since they mistakenly identified it with the Philistine city of Ekron, in northern Philistia, now southern Israel. It was the final stronghold of the Crusader state, and fell to the Mameluks of Egypt in a bloody siege in 1291.

---------------------
As the ruler of Acre, your main task is to supply Jerusalem with more goods, and this summer's request is quite large, based mainly on heavy weapons and iron. Will you gather everything in time or be taken away off the king position?

fayez2010 Hey Lord_of_Hell,
My first review on this site has been submitted. The review is given to an advanced castle designer and player on his map sent. The map is Acre(Akko) Stronghold and the castle designer is Lord_of_Hell, I think.....
Please as it my first review so take it light.
Oh, a bug, I faced.
Workers(mostly bakers) automatically left the castle whereas the popularity was 100. This was continuously happening. When the worker lefts, another peasant changes into a worker and makes his way to workplace. This made the game really hard due to time spent.

fayez, thank you so much for the review! :)

You are not an amateur at all, but a very good player, as you could handle the map very well.
It's also nice to hear that you liked the gameplay, and don't worry, your review is actually very well written for your first one.

I fully agree with the points you have said.
I have one question:
Do you think you can edit the review and rise the score a bit if I update the map with more stones for the lose event and add some camels in the desert?

Thanks again for the review.
fayez2010 Hi L_O_H,
I tell you when I clicked the submit button I felt that the rating is somewhere low!! Of course, I'll increase the ratings as it is also my desire.

Thanks, good to hear. I'll update the map soon.

EDIT: The map is now updated. The adds are written in description.
As a note, the improvements does not require you to play again all the map because the modifications are mostly liked to the terrain.

And the bug you encountered is actually not a bug but a strange Crusader gameplay behavior which can't be modified. The bakers leave and come again because you placed too many bakeries.

fayez2010 Hey Lord_of_Hell,
Sorry for:
1. Delay in editing review. Because we faced a electric short in our house but now problem gone.
2. Writing your name as L_O_H in previous comment.

But now review has been edited. Thanks for updating.

Can comment on "For Swords" (my map)?
Comment of any type. (criticism or appreciation).
peter2008 At first, I could not start playing the map but wanted to watch the big city, its pathways, corners, walls and many people walking and working around. The main stockpile assimilated in shape to the central citadel feels pretty vivid.
Acre, along with Tyre the most famous coastal city taken by the Crusaders, was a place where cultures and traders met. So a fitting choice for an eco scenario.
Btw, as for all the gold in the mission: there is a tower, part of the northern wall, called Burg al-Hazna, Tower of the Treasury.

Then, I could not end the mission successfully due to the mercilessly sized fire events. Lots of demolition even without any siege.
In between, the map unfolds in a downright monstrous way. All levels of eco gameplay are affected, some exciting restrictions imposed. The player has to reorganize the space within the town - which would be that much easier if one was allowed to touch the walls. ;) And, the player has to use many tactics of boosting the eco course. Water bearers, for example, are not only needed to deal with the fire but are a convenient way to "store" population. Some of the tactics are well-known in multi playing Crusader. Here in Acre, they not only proove additionally helpful but are functional parts of the gameplay. Nice implementation!

So I had a looong fun with the map. And I wish that many players try around themselves to do their best for managing the huge task.
Thanks, LoH.

fayez, thank you so much!
I really appreciate that you tried the map and shared your fun within the review.

And don't worry for that, it's all OK :) I also accept my name written as LoH or L_o_H

And also thank you, Peter. An unexpecting comment from you actually :) I'm very glad I could give fun to an eco-player like you. Thanks.
