The castle in this map is a very detailed and accurate remake of one of the aiv's for the Pig in Stronghold Crusader. I have added many extra men to garrasion the castle as if i had the exact amount then defending this castle would be impossible. Not sure if this has already been done but i though it would be a good and intresting idea
Long story short: the map is perfectly playable as both attacker and defender. The problem is that the map is absurdly easy; I won on very hard as defender with about 30% casualties, and playing as attacker is as simple as breaking down the gatehouse and steamrolling the keep. The Pig isn't the hardest of AIs, but surely he could put up a better fight.
That's not to say the map isn't fun. I had fun, and anyone who downloads it will probably have fun too.
Balance: 3
As I said before, I thought the map was too easy--and I'm awful at seiges. Funny thing is that I can't put my finger on why it's too easy. I think it's the sheer number of troops for both sides. Small castles like these are better suited for small scale wars with maybe 20-30 units apiece. Add some knights for the Pig to take out seige equipment and the sides would then balance out, making for a much longer game.
Creativity: 5
Never played a recreation of Crusader AIVs within the original game, and I sincerely hope you make more.
Map Design: 3.5
Simple and functional and pretty. Perfectly sized too, good work. The landscape could use some detailing and some bits looked unnatural, but overall the map design is fine.
Story/Instructions: 1
Well, the map was sans story and instructions, so it's hard to grade.
