As default rating, playability and balance are imo linked, especially in siege map. No bugs, you can win and loose, however there is no stress for player. Your sure to win as attacker like as defender.
Wolf dialogue suggest the map is intended to be play as defender, story too. There is a very simple test to do for balance. you are defendre, launch the map at normal and do nothing at all. You win ? There is a problem. I launched at very and did nothing : victory with 4% casualties --> very big problem. Of course defending a castle + moat with 443 soldiers, so about the same numbers than attackers is a bit unbalanced.
Attacker : you start with 10 000 gold !!! Do you imagine how many trebuchet, then catapult you can buy ? Engineers build 1, when out of stone withdraw from the first one (you delete) then build another ect... Than allow you to build 66 of it and launch 130 diseased cow. It s about to raze the castle to the ground and kill everybody but guys at the keep s top.
Achieving victory at attackers is stressless, a bit boring perhaps, but not difficult at all. I simply demolish the left flank where the keep was, killing most defenders with cows once walls and towers were collapsed. After that you just have to fill moats and assault the keep.
Map Design: 3.5
I rated a bit above medium to encourage. There is nothing extraordinary, but author made minimals efforts on landscape and sea. Author didn t used to much trees to hide empty space.
We can see use of schrubs and rock, reliefs however are to be work a little more.
Point animals are not welcome in siege maps. They automatically die at start.
Minimal, but it exist, so I cant rate 1 which is for nothing at all.
Additional Comments: I hope it can be helpfull. Maps is rather descent for a first one, but sadly offer few challenge.
