The year is 1348. The black death arrived in Italy the year before, and has already spread to large parts of the continent. An awful lot of people from all social classes - even clergy - have perished, and nothing seem to stop this horrible disease. Large areas have already been cleared - or almost cleared - of population. Many have fled and thereby contributing to the disaster. Communities are now isolating themselves by banning outsiders from entry (usually too late), and hope for the best. Scapegoats have also been found! Followers of deviant religious beliefs, like Jews, are being blamed for spreading the disease among good God-fearing citizens. (Religious) "Trials" are speedy, and sentences - usually death in some horrible fashion - are carried out immediately after.
Fleeing the danger, you - and your "alternative" religious community - have arrived on this inhospitable stretch of coastline - a small peninsula, far away from any signs of population. You decide to settle, and hopefully find some peace from disease and mankind alike. But you are not that naive! You know that someone - probably the nearest Clergy/Nobleman - will eventually turn their attention to you, especially if you have a large and prosperous community. Will you deter outsiders by your ability to raise an army, or by your ability to quickly equip and feed an army?
Which path will you choose?
About the scenario
The scenarios is actually two scenarios in one package! It is either an eco-challenge, or a traditional invasion. Here is how it works:
If you choose to play the scenario as an Invasion
You just disregard the winning conditions (requirements), and beat whatever is thrown at you! A victory screen will appear when nobody (the Wolf) wants to challenge you any more! Eco-challenge
You meet the requirements (winning conditions) before someone (the Wolf) overrun you:
24 Ale
92 Cheese
24 Mazes
24 Crossbows
55% blessed
75% drinking ale
As you will have to stay isolated, there is no trader!
Most scripting events (exceptions being invasions) is not scripted at specific dates, and will only react/respond to your (the players) actions.
The scenario (both) is designed to be played on the "Very Hard"-setting!
