Byzantium II - Tomé

Author File Description
File Details
Map Size: 200x200 (Small)
Difficulty: Normal
Made with version: 1.1
Ten years later.

After having governed succesfully the fieve of Ktesiphalon for the Duke, he has sent you to the coast to a small fortress called Tomé.

There you will be forced to hold out the border against the arab and turk raiders that threaten the nearby city of Heraclea at the north coast of Anatolia.
Unfortunately the land at the coast is quite scarce but sufficient to defend a little fortress, or isn't it?

Classic invasion. Hold out the enemy's "onslaught" long enough and you win. If your lord dies, you fail.

As you notice, I like small scenarios.

Comment if you like it or want to give me advice on how to do better even.
Second part after Ktesiphalon.
The third part is ready also and will come some time soon. The fourth is planned.

riderwinz I enjoyed playing this map even more than your previous one.

With the food restrictions, its easy to kill off all the deer too quickly. I also placed my woodcutters carefully to allow for regrowth so that I had wood until the end.

The building restriction (no stairs) & buying stone means its expensive to defend your perimeter with towers & gatehouses when you're trying to build up your army. Pitch ditches help and my king even got his hands bloody a few times.
The invasions from the S.E. were harder to defend against, especially near the end.

I can't think of any criticisms except the unnecessary ruins which get in the way, and the placement of the stockpile, which I moved, extended & built braziers on to reach the pitch ditches. I also sold off the food when the hunters were almost ready to bring their meat & moved the granary closer to the dairy farm. This also meant that the hunters didn't have so far to walk. I'm going to play it again building a couple of tower/gatehouses to see how that works out. And then perhaps a third time, leaving the stockpile where it was originally.

Thank you for a very playable map. Bring on part 3....
