Darshen
On the plateaus of Darshen you will find a river once flowed through the area, now leaving rich farmland full of deer in the valleys, stone and iron for the taking. Shallow waters still feed the lower parts of the valleys, trees growing along the edges leaving enough for you to build a fine castle.
This map is built in 3 versions, skirmish, a war scenario and a peace(economic) scenario, all 3 maps will have enough for anyone's style of play, the skirmish map is 3 player, the peace(economic) map is a PYOK with easy goals, and the war scenario is filled with invasions and an enemy castle built to repel even the best of warriors, your place on the plateau will give you enough room to build and enough restrictions to make it a bit harder.
Each map will be posted in it's proper section, so if you want to try all 3 versions you will have to download each one separately.
A big thank you goes out to "Peter2008" and "riderwinz" for their valued testing and great input.

I played both the economic and the war versions & would recommend both, depending on your preference. I generally prefer ecovasions, but found the Darshen War very playable and challenging.
I'm a fan of Sir_Vet's ecovasions & have been recently working my way through his collection. So far I'd rate most of them above 4 1/2 stars. |

"Difficulty: Normal"!!! Seriously? ;-)
This is a very challenging scenario. One of the best and most demanding invasions I have ever played!
It took me a couple of tries to get it right, but I can sincerely say it was worth the time and effort.
Due to my MS I can't act/play fast, but acting fast from the very start seems to be a must to survive this mayhem. Trying to set up defenses and production while defending against hordes of attackers from very early on, makes this scenario (much) more than a "normal" challenge, at least to me.
I loved the illusion of skirmish-mode vs. a qualified AI, even if it was (occasionally) broken by attacking European units!
Once I could repel the (unbreakable chain of) attacks with ease, it was time to think about striking back and conquering the neighbors castle. It seemed like a well defended castle, so I raised an army that I "knew" would match the challenge.
I lost about 90% in the (successful) attack, and was getting worried towards the end. Quite exhausting, and I'll probably need a few days to recover before I try the eco version! :-)
I can only recommend this scenario, but be prepared to spend several (demanding) hours before you can have a taste of sweet victory! |

I agree with Korsfarer Mogens that Darshen War is definitely 'hard'. |

Hi Guys, Looks like you have enjoyed my creation , hopefully you can enjoy all 3 versions.
Thanks again for your help riderwinz, getting the difficulty level right, it's a fine line.
I have an impossible map I will post soon, then you will think this one easy.
Korsfarar Mogans, It seams like you played it the way it was intended, well done! The beginning is a bit harder than I scripted, the amount of troops I placed for the AI has him taking the troops off the walls and sending them at you right from the start, I kind of liked it that way, you managed to make it to the victory, so I would say it's just about right.
You loved the idea of my AI castle, I wanted a castle that would be hard to take down, the 2 problems are the AI will not repair anything and there are to many troops on the map causing the Serf to get a little excited:-)
The ecopeace map is a peaceful map, it has some events and bandits scripted but is an easy map, place your keep where you like and build to your hearts content, end it when you want by reaching the population goal.
Thanks a lot for your valued replies!

ps: MrtheKing77, I will be posting an SH2 map soon, I have a few small maps and 1 large 2 mission map almost ready to post.

This mission can be called "epic" as it passes through many stages of gameplay and you will discover the entire map!
First, one has to withstand a running invasion and its follow-ups. Thereby set up a decent city within a space small but good enough. (And probably rearrange things later.)
Weapons trading is restricted, so part of success will be hand-made. Events take place.
With defences working, one will take care to occupy further parts of the territory. A feeling came to me like with the "Estates" of SH2 - which is seldom achieved in SH1/Crusader.
The opponent's castle is bristling with projectiles. One can try to approach it from different ranges and then display attacks in whatever style one prefers, either guerilla-like from hidden spots or absolutely relying on masses of troops.
Just be hinted to the base concept of mixed unit types who support & defend each other mutually.
So, this map can be regarded as 2 or 3 missions in 1, or a little campaign. |
