From your mount you gaze through the mist at the looming walls and mighty towers that guard the approaches to Sulis Castle. It will be no easy task to take this castle you think, but take it you must. Lord Alexander, Earl of Griffin (the wolf), has stolen the jewel encrusted Holy Bible from York cathedral and brought it here. The Duke of York was enraged and has ordered you to retrieve the book and take Sulis Castle at all costs. Time is of the essence; Lord Alexander is away plotting with his ally, Lord Mobray (the Pig) of ways to destroy the Duke of York and any who are loyal to his family. You must take control of Sulis Castle and hold it until the Duke can send reinforcements. Unfortunately, due to commitments to the crown, it will be months before an adequate relief force can be sent to retrieve the precious book.
In the early morning light, the sounds of chainmail and armor clink as your men assemble into formation for the coming battle. Steam thrusts from the nostrils of your steed in the chilly air. As you study the castle for possible weaknesses, you hear the faint rumble of hooves tearing the earth. Suddenly, moving through the fog you see a troop of Lord Griffin’s men charging at you. Then you hear the scream of their battle cry pierce the morning air. Wheeling your mount you shout, “Ambush!”
This is a cede castle map with several strong invasions….some quite strong. You must take the castle and build up your defenses quickly. Choose wisely your method of assault on the castle, as Lord Alexander will not sit idly by and watch you rebuild the castle and fortify it.
Thank you for downloading my scenario. This map is a small tribute to Sulis, one of the newest cherubs. I hope you have as much fun playing it as I had making it. Please let me know if you like or dislike this scenario.
