Playability: 3/5. This is a straightforward siege map that, I assume, can be played either attacking or defending. With a big castle layout the options are open as to how you want to either defend or attck the castle and this added to playability for me. Fun while it lasted.
Balance: 3/5. As a defender I played on numerous settings but opted for very hard difficulty. This is the only way you can have sufficient troops siege the castle. Could have done with more troops on the map. As an attacker, play on normal and you are offered a decent challenge. A big castle like this screams out for more troops. No bad.
Creativity: 3/5. An okay idea, and a design of a castle in Spain, but could have been more. Credit given for choosing a good castle to recreate. Good, but nothing different.
Map Design: 3/5. As the author points out the outside of the castle, namely the landscaping, are a little bleak. The inside is well done though and it's easy to see what the author was trying to achieve - a fairly accurate portrayal of a castle. Some lovely modelling with walls and stairs. However, the stairs were also the downfall of this map, as I was able to bypass the gatehouse and rush into the keep.
Story/Instructions: 2/5. What a shame. Nothing really here to read up on, and really needs some sort of history as i'd never heard of the castle until now. Unable to give more than 2 if there's nothing really there.
IN SUMMARY: Not a bad siege map, could do with some clarity if you are to defend or attack. More troops may add to playability and balance issues as well. Some good design work in the castle that really deserves praise. Have a go, see what you think.
