This map is the first English colony to survive, Jamestown.
I have spent a lot of time making this map, which includes walkable wooden walls and wooden crenulations. It also has braziers to make up for the lack of guns they would have used. I'm not sure if the river I made was exactly correct, but it looks good anyway.
If you have any ideas for this map I really want to hear them.
As of october 7th, the map has been changed to fix the error of winning right when the game starts. Thank you Sulis.
Another change has been made as of October 8th. I have now included as much history as it would let me put in.
Playability: 4/5. The wooden fort appearance here of Jamestown is a refreshing change from stone castle walls and with this brings a slightly different approach to defending. Playability here is fine, and i've played this a few times now without getting bored. The invasion events are very good in terms of size, frequency and the troops chosen.
Balance: 5/5. Wooden gatehouses are rather weak links and faced with a good sized army of macemen and spearmen they tore through this defence and into the castle on a couple of occasions. I like this approach and found myself defending my Lord during one attack. Excellent use of troop numbers to defend against, a really good challenge and the option of killing pits and pitch ditches seems to add to the defensiveness of the fort. I really thought I was going to suffer an embarrassing defeat at times but seemed to get through. Very well done.
Creativity: 4/5. The fort chosen is novel and extremely well done, working well with Stronghold. A different slant to the norm. The overall idea is a very sound one, a good old fashioned invasion but done well.
Map Design: 4/5. Lovely looking fort with the wooden palisaing trick and wooden walls. Combined witht he gatehouses, the overall feel of the map is incredible, very appealing visually. Map modelling is also of a high standard overall, the author working the tools to avoid large areas of rough terrain (see the naural appearance of the river). Great effort here.
Story/Instructions: 3/5. Maybe the only weak area of this map, with the standards already laid down above. It's not a bad intro but would really come to life with a bit of history thrown in, a bit more depth maybe.
IN SUMMARY: Thoroughly enjoyable, perfectly playable invasion scenario. Good map!

Beautiful map, very original idea! The only thing I would change is the option to do something with the stone produced beside sell it. Great Job nonetheless!

I stopped to look at this map out of curiosity. I took the liberty of adding the minimap. As I was required to complete the new version field I guessed at it being done with v 1.1
