This is my first attempt at making a completed map for Stronghold. I based it somewhat loosely around the conflicts fought between Baltic pagans and their Christian rivals in the 13th century. This map is a siege where you are given the chance to play as either the Crusaders or the pagans. It was constructed in the new HD version of Stronghold.
As much preparation as I had time for was made before attempting to create this map. Using online tutorials as a guide I tried to do little things like flattened wooden walls in order to make the map look nicer and give the archers a place to stand inside the fort, and a shrine next to the keep where the inhabitants pay respect to a deity.
I hope you enjoy this map, and please feel free to give feedback. I appreciate it, and I'm sure I can learn something about mapmaking.
Ok, I think it is Time to write someting. I downloaded and played it, and first of all, not bad.
The difficulty was ok (easy on easy, but with enough losses to think it could be hard on hard or very hard).
The Terrain was ok too for the first map. Not too detailed, but not bad too.
I liked the wooden wall inside the castle and i know it will take your time to make that on siege maps. Did you used Catapults on wolves or rabbits too to dammage the stone stairs? Or did you figured out another way? (Siege maps doesn´t have enemys in the editor so that is the only way i found).
The only little annoying thing for me was, that i did not had enough workers for using the Ram i could build. Even on easy. So you can only use the shields.

Thank you for your comment. To get the stone stairs broken I switched the map type to Invasion and used enemy spearmen to damage them.
Also, I am sorry about the battering ram. I was pretty sure when I played it that there were enough engineers, but I will have a look again and see if I can figure out what happened.
Thanks again.

You will find on the first page of your new scenario "Scenario" Click on it. Then you will find on the next page "attacking force". Click on it. There you can put the army together. But, of course, you have first to build a scenario ....

How do you decide where they start on the map?

You will find, building a map, unter rocks "signpost" This are starting points. Playe them near the border of the map. This are the places armies starts. As your enemie can see it and block the signpost, I reccommend, to place more than one at different places. But they block parts of the maps, therefore not to much in the case of invasion maps, as you need the countryside.
But if you have more questions, please, go to the forum, this is the wrong place.
