Although it really exists and the map based on it, the map is not a model of Lichtenstein. The construction is in parts is complete fictional.
Real History:
There are many castles in the countries of German language named " Lichtenstein"Nearly no one is worth to be mentioned at least, because there are only few, low remains, little, low walls, etc.
As this castle isn't new, I don't know anymore, which was the base of this plan.
;-) I suppose, this one:
1200 - Construction of the castle by the Counts Palatine to secure the road from Neustadt to Kaiserslautern
1220 - first mention of Conradus de Lichtenstein
1281 - destruction of the castle through Speyer citizens under the leadership of John of Lichtenstein, a cousin of the lords. . These Lords were robber barons and the citizens were constantly raided
1334 - the last descendant of the Lichtenstein family dies and is buried in Neidenfels, his grave stone is now in the local church of St. Nicholas
1838-1849 - remains of the castle to be demolished for the construction of the railway line Ludwigshafen, Kaiserslautern
As an attack on the castle will prove difficult, you get helb in the way of more bowmen during the proceeding. Use them or delete them ...
