A siege that map utilizing the terrain of the map to enhance the strength of the castle. The castle itself is composed by protective columns and clusters of crenellated walls, towers, moat, pitch and finally portable shields for increased protection.
To create this castle I’ve had to make use of an ingame editor technique to remove the trees which were originally in the place of the castle, this was accomplished by surrounding the trees in walls and waiting for them to disappear.
The castle is composed of:
-Protective columns of crenelated walls, to hinder approaching tunnelers and deny any laddermen and siege towers from taking advantage of the walls.
-Multiple layers of crenelated walls hindering an attackers advance on the keep (and preventing the use of ladders and siege towers).
-Lots of single tile pitch to be ignited and thus burn the soil around the pitch tile and potentially ignite the surrounding forest in the event of an attacker advancing on the castle.
-A moat to hinder an attacking army, especially tunnelers.
-A large density of towers some mounted with ballistas along with crossbowmen and a large army of archers to ignite pitch tiles and fire at incoming forces, all protected by a large amount of unmanned portable shields (to greatly increase protection against an attacking force composed by ranged units. The shields are unmanned as to reduce the gold cost from 35 gold to 5 gold).
I made the castle with the intention of creating an unassailable stronghold with the resources provided in the ‘siege that map’ editor, although even with these means which I have made use of it, is still very much possible to beat this castle/stronghold.
