You are hereby commanded to produce 90 swords for my war effort in one of my regions. Find the iron deposits and start production as soon as possible. Local sources indicate the possibility of raiders.
I'd classify this map into the category "HARD" as the increasing invasions are too big, you are getting overwhelmed ...

Thank you for an enjoyable game. I wouldn't classify it as hard & got Victory Dec 1192, just before the first big invasion. I went back to an earlier save, halted sword production to try out the invasion, but fought them off quite easily.
I then checked the map editor & saw that future invasions were even bigger, but as I was cash flush from selling stone, bread & was buying additional bows & iron, I think I would have handled them OK.
The early years were the best, deciding where to place the keep, whether to go for food, troops, stone, iron, trying to conserve nearby trees... whether to sell some stone for cash to speed up early production. I enjoy that sort of planning in a game.
I think being able to buy iron is a mistake & that enabled me to finish earlier. Also having only 1 signpost makes defense easier.
But all in all, an enjoyable game.

I forgot to mention that many 1.2 maps are unplayable for me, but yours was fine.

Yeah, I've finally made it in Dec 1191, and it has been a satisfying victory!

In the endless deserts someone has need of lots of swords, the military machine as the goal which the other economics just supports.
As often, it's great to watch how decisions pay off.
How about an ending date of Oct. 1186 ?
